Project description

Warm Contemporary Bedroom with Integrated Workspace

This interior design transforms a long, narrow room into a calm and highly functional private suite, combining a comfortable sleeping area with a dedicated home workspace. The concept is based on warm contemporary minimalism, where natural materials, soft colors, and carefully designed architectural details create a balanced and welcoming atmosphere.

The main organizing element is a custom-made, multifunctional partition positioned between the bed and the desk. Its solid lower section forms the upholstered bed backdrop and supports floating bedside tables, while the open oak lattice above provides visual separation without blocking daylight or making the room feel enclosed. On the opposite side, the same structure becomes a generous work surface with integrated drawers, storage, and a low bookshelf. This solution gives both zones a sense of privacy while maintaining a continuous and spacious interior.

The sleeping area is composed around a generously proportioned bed dressed in layered neutral textiles and muted sage-green cushions. A textured rug defines the resting zone, while a lightweight oak bench adds functionality at the foot of the bed. Built-in wardrobes with vertically fluted oak fronts provide substantial storage and introduce a refined rhythm to the room. Beside them, illuminated display niches offer space for books, greenery, and selected decorative objects.

The material palette is deliberately restrained. Natural oak flooring and joinery bring warmth, while soft white walls, stone-effect surfaces, linen fabrics, and tactile upholstery create a light and soothing background. Subtle wall moldings add architectural character without overpowering the minimalist composition. Deep green details—seen in the desk pendant, rug, plants, and accessories—provide contrast and connect the interior with nature.

Lighting is designed in layers. Sheer, full-height curtains softly filter daylight from the windows, maintaining privacy while preserving brightness. A sculptural pendant creates a gentle focal point above the bed, while wall lamps, bedside lighting, illuminated niches, and an integrated vertical light feature provide warm and practical illumination throughout the room.

The final result is an elegant and cohesive interior that combines rest, work, and storage within a single open space. Every element has a clear purpose, yet the room remains uncluttered and visually calm—a contemporary retreat defined by natural warmth, thoughtful craftsmanship, and understated comfort.
