Description

From Home to B&B is an exciting and interesting project with the main scope of dividing 90SQM into three 14SQM separate bedrooms with attached bathrooms. In addition to the main scope, another request was to create a small linen room ideal for washing and storing household utilities and washing machines, tools etc.
Following the idea of transforming the existing layout into a modern yet functional living space, three bedrooms have been incorporated with a separate lounge area as a common space between bedrooms allowing privacy for permanent residents and B&B guests. Since the presence of exciting drains near the previous bathroom, the project has been quite challenging with plumbing works, which is not simple to provide the pipelines without adding a new floor which costs a lot for clients.
A simple solution has been provided and utilized as locating more bathrooms near the existing drain lines closer to the previous bathroom. The proposed pipelines have been incorporated through ledge walls known for hiding surface pipelines without adding extra load and cost to the project significantly. The remote bathroom drain lines run underneath the pantry and closet bottom without adding any significant construction problems. In addition, every existing window has been utilized as it is to light the interior by locating the proposed partition walls as an optimized layout. A special partition wall has been introduced for bathrooms where windows are not present with glazing at the top for lighting from nearby room space and louvers at the bottom for ventilation purposes.
Tha colour palette has been mainly used in light tones and wood textures throughout the area while a few contrast colours add vibrance to the interior with paintings and wallpapers.
It had been an amazing journey from the existing home to the B&B space and was an exiting task to solve the puzzle carefully while preserving functionality and creativity.
