Description

The brief for the project was to plan two bathrooms in the space of one and this immediately proposes a challenge where making use of every square centimeter becomes crucial. To achieve this, the following alterations have been made:
1. Extending a part of the wall into the living space by 30cm, two entirely functional bathrooms were created.
2. Instead of separating the two bathrooms with a solid wall, a solution is proposed where a 1 meter high "ledge wall" is created and frosted glass is fixed over it, making the windowless bathroom acquire natural lighting. The same solution is proposed to separate the shower areas of both bathrooms but instead of a ledge wall, there is a full height frosted glass partition.
3. Sanitary fixtures that are extremely space-efficient are proposed ranging from 35cm wide bidet and WC to a tiny but functional washbasin with a storage cabinet below.
4. Full length mirror automatically doubles up the space visually making the bathroom appear larger.
