cozy little house with a garden: the magic transformation

Briefing

We have a lovely little house with a garden - that used to belong to the great grandmother of the family. Now we are moving there as a newly married couple and would love to fill the house with nice things, laughter and one or two fat cats. :)

The house needs full renovation but as we are not interior design experts - let's not count the several Pinterest boards related to the topic - we are really counting on your creativity and enthusiasm to help us make this our home.

Our top budget for construction and furniture is $17k.

What matters to us in the design:
- good use of space: smart space solutions
- nature inspired style and colurs: pastel colours, wooden furniture
- usability
- no fancy design and furniture - we prefer simple & natural

We really love:
- the combination of natural materials
- DIY furniture and decoration
- slide doors
- things that are cozy, warm and comfortable
- plants & flowers
- natural light

We will explain what we would like from room to room:

1. Entrance hall:
- we would like a storage bench in or under which we could keep shoes or other things
- a bike rack could be great as we use our bikes every day to go to work
- coat hanger

2. Kitchen:
- kitchen units along the the wall behind which the stairs are
- a nice dining table in the middle of the room or designed around the chimney
- enough space and kitchen tools for cooking together different meals
- shelves for the cats to climb onto / sleep on

3. Toilet
- just a toilet and some shelves above where we can put the toilet paper and some cleaners

4. Bathroom
- bath is a must, shower only is not an option
- storage units which build up like stairs, so we can sit on it or put some plants on top of them
- wash basin (would prefer circle shaped ones)
- decoration: tiles!

5. Bedroom
This would be the master bedroom, where my husband and i would sleep, we were thinking about:
- a king size bed, book shelves
- a large desk on which i could sew and design clothes (preferebly close to the window and placed in a way that i could walk around it)
- cabinets / storage units for our clothes


6. New bedroom or study - to be built
We can imagine this space either as a guest room or a study, a quiet little place where any of us could escape. What could be useful there:
- bed
- desk
- storage unit
This is up to your creativity! :D

7. New living room & wintergarden - to be built
We would like this space as natural and comfortable as possible, to fill it with plants, cozy blankets, smell of coffee and cats. :)
- sofa set
- book shelves
- lamps
- coffee table
- chillout area deco and furniture
