The documents provided for this project have some inconsistencies: the dimensions of the houses in the city's documents did not correspond with the dimensions of the houses in the autocad drawings.
In order to avoid a mistake, we verified the dimensions through satellite imagery.
We based our project idea on the beautiful pictures that you provided.
In our design, the two houses are connected by a porch in glass with white columns.
For the layout of the house where you are currently living, we didn't propose big changes. In the kitchen we suggest the possible inclusion of a door that would connect the kitchen area with the rear deck, including the walls with mosquito screening.
On the first floor of the new house we included 2 large rooms (playroom and office or 2 bedrooms) and a central area. The central area includes laundry, bathroom and stairs to reach the second floor.
On the second floor we designed a loft that goes the length of the house, where we included 2 big bedrooms and a bath.
To take advantage of the temperate climate in New Orleans, we design a big deck area on the back of the two houses, incorporating the pre-existing tree.
