3 CHAIR
This concept is inspired by the simplest and essential of geometric shapes: the triangle.
The triangle, a shape that brings great elegance and lightness from both an aesthetic and formal point of view, is the generating principle of this design and it is turned into its supporting structure.
Another feature that defines the object is the central cut that divides it into two inseparable parts.
Composition
This chair has two front side legs and at the back in the center, the latter consisting of two triangles of the same size as the first (side), joined together by joints (wooden pivot + metallic cylinder with brushed steel finish).
For the front legs, in the prototype, it was decided to use white wood lacquered or mdf and for the back leg a solid wood (light walnut in our prototype) that should always be coordinated with the seat finish in the final product.
The idea of the triangle is revealed not only in the choice of geometries but also in the number of supports on the ground, which are just 3, which guarantees great stability without making the shape heavier.
The seat and backrest are a single continuous and bent multilayer element (in the prototype with light walnut finish) divided into two identical and specular parts that, once attached, hold together the legs, working in solidarity with each other.
Packaging and Assembly
The chair is completely disassemblable and can therefore be packed in very small packages guaranteeing practicality and cost-effectiveness in transport. The customer can easily build up the chair by attaching the legs to the bottom of the seat via screws in 4 simple steps. The ultimate object has a captivating, yet high-performance design, both for ergonomics and stability.
