This superior room, conceived for a 5-star hotel on the Amalfi Coast, embodies a contemporary Mediterranean style: light, essential, and quietly elegant. Far from nostalgic, the design expresses modernity rooted in place.
Every element speaks to local identity through minimal gestures — a hand-painted ceramic plate, a fig-wood detail, a crafted table. The palette reflects the surrounding landscape: aqua blue, limestone white, fig green, and sand. These tones emerge subtly through textures and materials: limewash walls, pale wood finishes, natural fibers, and glazed ceramics.
The room unfolds in a soft, natural rhythm — a serene sleeping area paired with a lounge corner facing the sea, seamlessly connecting indoor space with the Mediterranean horizon. The integrated writing desk and custom shelving add functionality while maintaining visual clarity and lightness.
The bathroom is designed as a discreet yet refined oasis, aligned with the fixed layout dictated by the existing vertical systems. Its character is luxurious but restrained — composed of luminous surfaces, tactile materials, and clean geometry. A minimalist palette enhances the sense of clarity and space, while carefully integrated lighting — ensures both function and atmosphere. The materials are selected for both their elegance and ease of maintenance, offering a space that is at once practical, comfortable, and visually serene.
This room is a pilot prototype that defines the future identity of the hotel: timeless yet contemporary, rooted in territory but free from clichés — a refined sanctuary on the Amalfi Coast.
