All'interno dell'appartamento esistente al primo piano ho inserito otto camere, come richiesto nel contest. Gli spazi a disposizione, anche per la presenza delle murature portanti, non sono particolarmente abbondanti e quindi nella mia proposta ho cercato di sfruttare la considerevole altezza dei locali, superiore a 5 metri. Tale altezza permette, rispettando il Regolamento Edilizio locale, di creare delle zone soppalcate, disponendo nella zona di ingresso della camera il corridoio e un bagno (che possono avere un'altezza di 220 cm), mentre al piano soppalco (altezza 260 cm) può trovare posto una camera aggiuntiva con almeno un posto letto (ma volendo è possibile pensare anche ad un secondo letto singolo).
Questa soluzione viene prevista in 4 camere su 8.
Due camere (disposte nei locali che affacciano su via Lamarmora) sono sufficientemente grandi per contenere un letto matrimoniale ed un singolo senza necessità di creare soppalchi, mentre per le due camere collocate nei locali con altezza pari a 330 cm non è prevista la presenza del letto singolo ma del solo letto matrimoniale.
Le zone comuni sono ampie; ho ricavato una sala colazione con sette tavolini nella zona adiacente al locale cucina/deposito e al terrazzo. Il terrazzo è pensato come un ampliamento dell'area comune e quindi può essere attrezzato con divanetti da esterno oppure con tavolini per una sala colazione all'aperto, sfruttando anche la vicinanza del locale cucina.
Le aperture nelle murature portanti che ho previsto non superano mai i 100 cm con la sola eccezione delle camere 3 e 4 dove la demolizione comprende lo spazio della porta e della doccia e dove sarà necessario collocare una leggera struttura di sostegno in ferro nascosta nel tavolato per diminuire la luce dell'apertura.

Inside the existing apartment on the first floor I put eight rooms, as requested in the contest. The available spaces, also due to the presence of bearing walls, are not particularly abundant and therefore in my proposal I tried to exploit the considerable height of the rooms, over 5 meters. Respecting the local Building Regulations, this height allows to create mezzanine areas, arranging in the entrance area of the room the corridor and a bathroom (which can have a height of 220 cm), while on the mezzanine floor (height 260 cm) you can find an additional room with at least one bed (but if you want you can also add a second single bed).
This solution is available in 4 rooms out of 8.
Two rooms (arranged in the rooms overlooking Via Lamarmora) are large enough to have a double bed and a single one without the need to create mezzanines, while for the two rooms located in rooms with a height of 330 cm there is no bed single but double bed only.
The common areas are large; I have created a breakfast room with seven tables in the area next to the kitchen / storage room and the terrace. The terrace is designed as an extension of the common area and therefore it can be equipped with outdoor sofas or with tables for an outdoor breakfast room, also taking advantage of the proximity of the kitchen.
The openings in the bearing walls that I have planned never exceed 100 cm with the only exception of the rooms 3 and 4 where the demolition includes the space of the door and the shower and where it will be necessary to place a light iron support structure hidden in the wall in order to decrease the light of the opening.
