Il progetto si è concentrato essenzialmente sul definire un layout di facile lettura e fruizione da parte dei clienti. Le otto camere richieste per il piccolo albergo sono servite da un percorso che collega i due poli posti alle sue estremità: La hall di ingresso e la sala dove consumare la colazione. A questi due ambienti, collegati da un breve disimpegno, si è cercato di dare una forte caratterizzazione formale capace di fornire una identità riconoscibile al di là delle soluzioni estetiche (materiali, finiture e oggetti d’arredo) non ancora considerate in questa fase della progettazione. L’ellisse è la figura geometrica che meglio svolge questa funzione. In questo caso la figura intera si scinde in due parti andandosi a posizionare, come detto, alle estremità. La prima semi-ellisse, oltre a disimpegnare le prime tre camere, accoglie il cliente e suggerisce la direzione verso cui si sviluppa il resto della struttura. La seconda semi-ellisse, oltre a disimpegnare le ultime due camere, rappresenta la fine del percorso e quindi il luogo dove “si può stare” per fare colazione così come anche per intrattenersi con gli altri. Ma, come sempre, le sorprese arrivano alla fine: uno squarcio nel perimetro dell’ellissi permette di raggiungere la terrazza o semplicemente goderne della sua presenza e del giardino pensile che ne definisce un ambito. La forma ellittica da piana si fa volume. Alta tre metri non è pensata alta quanto gli ambienti che la contengono (di circa 4,80 metri), quindi come una scatola dentro un’altra scatola definisce se stessa anche in contrasto con i volumi che ne includono le sue due parti.

I nuovi tramezzi sono pensati in cartongesso a doppia lastra sulle due facce. Questa modalità meglio si adegua alla realizzazioni delle geometrie irregolari e assicurano, nello spessore dato, maggiore possibilità di isolamento acustico con l’inserimento di pannelli fonoassorbenti ad alta densità nell’intercapedine.
Gli infissi interni sono del tipo a filo muro con boiserie a coprire l’intero spazio dove è inserita la porta per offrire un fondale omogeneo agli squarci ritagliati nelle pareti che definiscono l’ellissi.
Tutte le camere hanno il letto matrimoniale largo cm 180, laddove possibile (5 camere) il bagno è illuminato indirettamente da vetrate aperte sulla camera che possono essere opache o trasparenti e oscurabili. Una di queste (la camera 1) ha il bagno dotato, oltre che della doccia, di una vasca idromassaggio per due persone (quella disegnata è una Jacuzzi sharp double).


The project essentially focused on defining a layout that is easy to read and use by customers. The eight rooms required for the small hotel are served by a path that connects the two poles at its ends: the entrance hall and the breakfast room. These two environments, connected by a brief disengagement, have tried to give a strong formal characterization able to provide a recognizable identity beyond the aesthetic solutions (materials, finishes and furnishing objects) not yet considered in this phase of the design. The ellipse is the geometric figure that best performs this function. In this case the whole figure splits into two parts, going to position, as mentioned, at the ends. The first semi-ellipse, in addition to disengaging the first three chambers, welcomes the client and suggests the direction in which the rest of the structure develops. The second semi-ellipse, in addition to disengaging the last two rooms, represents the end of the path and therefore the place where "you can stay" to have breakfast as well as to spend time with others. But, as always, surprises come at the end: a gash in the perimeter of the ellipse allows you to reach the terrace or simply enjoy its presence and the roof garden that defines a scope. The elliptical shape from a plane becomes volume. Three meters high it is not thought to be as tall as the rooms that contain it (about 4.80 meters), so like a box inside another box it defines itself even in contrast with the volumes that include its two parts.
The new partitions are designed in double-slab plasterboard on both sides. This mode best adapts to the realization of irregular geometries and ensures, in the given thickness, greater possibility of acoustic insulation with the insertion of high-density sound-absorbing panels in the interspace.
The internal fixtures are of the flush-wall type with boiserie covering the entire space where the door is inserted to offer a homogeneous backdrop to the cuts cut into the walls that define the ellipse.
All rooms have a 180 cm wide double bed, where possible (5 rooms) the bathroom is indirectly lit by windows open on the room that can be opaque or transparent and blacked out. One of these has a bathroom equipped,as well as a shower, with a two-person Jacuzzi (the one designed is a sharp double Jacuzzi).
