Description

The main purpose of design is to create a space that will be functional for both paddle players and café-restaurant visitors. At the same time I tried to design a club house that will enhance the natural beauty of the space and will comply with the bio-green concept.

As for the circulation of the complex, when the guest parks his car, he arrives through an exterior corridor at the exterior lobby of the complex which is between the club house and the paddle courts. The people who want to go at the café enter immediately at it. The paddle players can make the check-in for the courts at the interior reception and then lead to the changing rooms and afterwards to the paddle courts. When they finish their game they can go back at the changing rooms and after go to the café or lead to the parking area and leave. The exterior lobby can function as a space for the players who wait to play at the courts or for those who wait their team players and etc. The main circulation corridor connects the exterior lobby, the club house and the paddle courts.

At the northwest space of the plot there are fields that I think are important to stand out because from the photos I can understand that they are beautiful and comply with the bio-green character of the space. On the other-side (southeast area of the plot) there is the road from which someone enters in the complex. My goal is to create a long building that can exploit to the fullest the façade to the road and can create a transparent border between the fields and the road. This will allow passengers and guests to see the fields behind the club house building. At the same time I want to create a café with large windoors and with no borders in&out. This will make visitors to feel that they are always sitting at the exterior and in touch with the natural environment of the space. At last I intend to create different qualities of shading. For this reason I create shaded space, semi-shaded with pergola and open space with a tree that can work as an extension of the café when the weather is good.

From the photos that you provided to us I understand there are a lot of plants and trees that create a nice atmosphere. My aim is to destroy as less possible from the existing vegetation and to enhance it with plants that highlight circulation or create borders and visual filters. For the plant species I have chosen mediterenean plants.

Around the courts there is a corridor that can be used as nature running path. Also I propose another secondary and “more natural” running path which appears as a dashed curved line at the plan.

Finally the space for the kids is placed next to the café and is connected with it. I want it to have good connection with the café but at the same time not being exactly next to it. At the point which is placed there is the possibility to make it bigger if you want.

The goal is to create a space that will be functional and will give a unique experience at its visitors.
