Description

The challenge was to maintain some existing structural elements while delivering on the client’s vision of a modern home that would be modern, yet warm, comfortable, and ideal for daily needs. To achieve your villa's interior design, I had to find a way to use the current space to your advantage.

The concept started from the original space–to embrace the light and views, then heighten spatial experience through materiality. The idea was to unify the original architectural elements in the house through the marble wall to connect the stair to the first-floor mezzanine. Since the house is constructed with narrow corridors, the bright atmosphere amplifies the expansion perception of the space. Combining the existing elements with the new design, the house takes a whole new refreshed modern look with a cozy feeling.
