Commercial - Show Room
Dear client,
This project involves the interior design of a luxury rug showroom. The goal is to create a high-impact, welcoming environment that showcases rugs as art pieces while ensuring a warm, layered atmosphere aligned with your vision.
The design embraces an eclectic style, combining Grandmillennial charm, Palm Beach Regency glamour, and Moorish architectural elements, resulting in a sophisticated yet approachable space that elevates the rug collections.
Following your guidelines, the existing wooden ceiling construction with spotlights and floor will remain, preserving the showroom’s character. Given the dominant ventilation duct in the space, it is proposed to be masked with suspended gypsum ceiling boards hanging from the wooden construction, ensuring a cleaner visual while maintaining ceiling height and not jeopardizing ventilation function.
Welcoming zone is located at the entrance and features a sitting arrangement with two armchairs, a set of two round side tables, selected rug from your collection and a golden-framed mirror on the back wall. This zone serves for greeting clients and also functions as a photo shoot backdrop, adding flexibility to the showroom's use.
The primary elements of the design are modular rug display cabinets, grouped in sets of three. Each cabinet’s lower section features drawers for sample storage, while the upper part resembles a Moorish wall niche equipped with LED strips and gold bars for hanging displayed samples. This modular arrangement is repeated along the showroom, allowing for a total presentation of 27 rug samples while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic.
The advantage of uniform, modular cabinets is that they can be arranged differently over time, creating various interior design solutions.
A central display frame with LED lighting for showcasing a single, featured rug serves as a focal point in the showroom, emphasizing the artistic value of each piece.
Opposite the central frame, a split-level island (peninsula) functions as a consultation area and working desk. Two stools can be added for client meetings, creating a flexible workspace for design discussions.
The back wall features striped patterned wallpaper, introducing a dynamic atmosphere to balance the neutral palette while enhancing the perception of depth in the long space.
Material and Decorative Details:
Golden details in the mirror frame, cabinet handles, decorative objects, and vintage chandeliers add layers of elegance and warmth to the space.
The crisp white walls and cabinets create a serene backdrop that allows the rugs to stand out while maintaining a sophisticated atmosphere.
Layered lighting (existing spotlights, LED strips, and chandeliers) ensures rugs are well-illuminated while adding visual interest.
Special attention is given to ensuring modularity, flexibility, and warmth while retaining a clean, gallery-like backdrop that highlights the rugs as the heroes of the space.
I wish you good luck with renovation and promotion of your beautiful rug collection.
Best regards!
