The focus point of the real estate object of the contest is the view on the large and bright terrace, which becomes the project leader. In fact, the living area overlooks it, which benefits from the transformation of the current openings into full-height glass doors. The entrance is moved with respect to the stairwell, to be more centered than the living area. Privacy is maintained thanks to a custom-designed storage unit: with doors and partitions I see / can't see, filters the entrance and becomes, on one side, a storage unit with hidden clothes hanger and on the other side a bioethanol fireplace, in front of the which find space for two design armchairs for the conversation area. The feeling of intimacy is also emphasized by the lowered wooden ceiling, in which the lighting fixtures are installed. The living area then consists of a large area furnished with sofas and armchairs, anti-bodies at the dining table. The kitchen is open to the living area, but separated thanks to the L-shape of the living area: in this way, it is not immediately visible from the living room. Other functional areas complete the living area: a spacious bookcase with an iconic lounge chair, facing the terrace, creating a wonderful corner for reading and relaxation. Approaching the sleeping area, on the other hand, a space has been created for recreation: a comfortable sectional sofa faces the wall with the LCD screen, while a screen and the projector are recessed into the false ceiling, operable when needed. The sofa is set against a flower box, in turn delimited by an insert with frosted glass that conveys the light of the studio's natural in this area.
The bathrooms have kept their original position. The one with the French window has been transformed into a small studio, which can also accommodate guests if necessary. The service bathroom or living room is simply tilted with respect to the wall where the drains are currently located, so as not to run into problems in the execution phase. The second bathroom, serving the sleeping area, follows the original one, only slightly reduced. In this area of the house two bedrooms have been placed: a smaller one for guests, for the second child or as a play room. The child's bedroom is wider and has a walk-in closet, in view of its future growth. Space has also been created for an indispensable laundry / storage room.
The master bedroom functions as a separate entity, a small suite. Access is from the spacious walk-in closet and enters the room, where a walk-in shower is integrated. The master bathroom is built in place of the old toilet, downsized so that it can also accommodate a double sink.
As mentioned initially, the terrace is the undisputed protagonist of this penthouse. Several functional areas have been created to fully enjoy them. A wellness area, with a mini Jacuzzi built into a platform and surrounded by a seat that also acts as a parapet, integrated by the glass back. Opposite is the dining area, close to the kitchen and indoor dining. The short side of the terrace houses the counter where the barbecue is made, with the fridge and the sink. The central part of the terrace has a synthetic grass floor, pleasant and easy to maintain, where outdoor sofas and sun loungers have been placed. A wooden planter was placed against the old railing, which softens the terrace and frames the beautiful view of the city.
