Project description

Project: Amalfi Refined
Amalfi, SA, Italia

This home was born from a simple desire: to create a place that feels like it has always belonged to the Amalfi Coast — not as a postcard, but as a quiet, living part of its landscape.

Perched in the heart of Amalfi, Salerno, where the mountains meet the sea and lemon groves cling to steep terraces, this residence honors what’s already here: the light, the stone, the hand of the artisan, and the rhythm of the Mediterranean.

We didn’t bring in a style. We listened.

The walls are finished in lime-washed plaster, troweled by hand — not to look perfect, but to catch the changing light of the day, just like the old villas nearby. The floors are wide oak planks, warm underfoot, chosen for their quiet presence, not their shine. Curtains are undyed linen, gently filtering the sun so the room breathes with softness.

Furniture is few, but meaningful. A Berto bed in deep navy — like the sea at dusk — becomes a place of rest. Wardrobes in olive wood, inspired by local groves, open without handles, revealing only what’s needed. In the living room, a low sofa in terracotta linen invites you to sit awhile, while a ceramic bowl from Vietri sul Mare holds dried lemon leaves — a quiet nod to the citrus that scents the air outside.

There are no seashells. No stripes. No noise.

Instead, there’s space to breathe, light to linger, and craft to be felt — in the grain of the wood, the glaze of the ceramic, the curve of a sconce’s glass.

This is not a house that shouts.
It’s one that welcomes.

And in Amalfi — where beauty has always been lived, not displayed — that’s everything.
