Description

The disposition of the rooms was carefully thought of such way that it could ensue two large bedrooms each with a spacious dressing and its own bathroom. The stair was placed in such a way that it could offer a maximal space at the upper level. The main constraint was that one room at the ground floor (3rd level) could not benefit from a natural light. We choose to have this as the study room. At first it seemed a little odd because of the lack of light even though advantageous regarding the space disposition because this room was thought of as a semi closed room with an movable wall that could make this to a private room when closed and to a larger lounge/ living area when open. This larger space was lacking if the position of this room had to be switched with the guest room but this possibility always remains. In order to make it to a study room we proposed a large opening in the ceiling in order to have a generous lighter window that would ensue enough zenital light to this room. Given the fact that the facades remain the same this kind of opening would be possible if no essential structural elements are there (like beams). This window could be a plane one as in the renders proposed or maybe also a sloped one in order to reduce the weight added by snow in the winter. If it is a plain one it could be made out of secured glass and could be a place to step on, giving a beautiful connection between these two areas of the house : terrace and study. The technical room and laundry have been fitted at the third floor because the upper one was pretty crowded and we wanted to keep the space as clean as possible. In addition it would be more useful to have the laundry room near the bedrooms. The colors have been kept light with touches of green and wood. It is a light mix between classy and natural, having the most precious place to be the main living area in a marble finished floor with marble accents (combining the patters) , a stone base, a neutral sofa and some accent chairs. It is the most elegant place but it is warm and cozy, having the green color and wall profiles to soften the colder yet classic and traditional marble effect.
