Residential - Apartment
The project reorganizes the original layout to create a continuous open living environment where entrance, living room, dining area and kitchen are conceived as a single fluid space without rigid partitions. Instead of physical dividers, the different functions are defined through furniture arrangement, curved geometries and subtle changes in levels, enhancing spatial continuity and visual openness.
A low cabinet element (95 cm high) is placed between the entrance and the living area, acting as a soft visual filter that ensures privacy while preserving openness and spatial continuity. A central kitchen counter acts as a soft separator between the kitchen and the living area, maintaining full visual connection while clearly organizing the functions. In the same way, the dining area remains fully integrated between kitchen and living room, becoming a natural transition space within the open layout.
A raised platform of approximately 10 cm is introduced in both the living and kitchen areas to subtly articulate the space and define functional zones without interrupting continuity. This change in level is conceived not as a separation but as a perceptual device to enrich spatial depth, create hierarchy and enhance the dynamic experience of the open space.
Special attention has been given to the existing structural column, which is not treated as an obstacle but integrated into the kitchen composition, becoming part of the design language and contributing to the overall aesthetic coherence. The use of curved and amorphous shapes throughout the layout softens the geometry and transforms structural constraints into expressive design features.
In accordance with the client’s request, the laundry area is positioned outside the bathroom and discreetly integrated behind the kitchen and dining zone, ensuring technical efficiency while preserving hygiene, comfort and visual order.
The private area includes a master bedroom with an integrated study corner, providing a quiet working environment within the sleeping area. The single bedroom is conceived as a flexible space for the daughter’s growth, equipped with generous storage units and a dedicated study area to ensure adaptability and long-term comfort.
Two bathrooms are designed with compact and efficient layouts, ensuring privacy, functionality and ease of daily use.
The overall design aims to combine openness, fluidity and functionality, creating a contemporary family apartment in which spatial continuity, soft geometries and integrated architectural elements generate a harmonious and adaptable living environment.
