The Airbnb 70mq project was an exciting challenge that focused on transforming an existing space into a welcoming two-bedroom Airbnb, complete with a kitchenette for guests.

First and foremost, I extend my heartfelt thanks to the client for providing this opportunity to participate in this wonderful project.

The main goal of the design was to create two comfortable bedrooms, each exceeding 14 sqm and featuring windows to bring in natural light. To achieve this, drywall partitions have been used and carefully positioned. The placement of the walls was meticulously planned to integrate the central steel column seamlessly into the design, minimizing its visual impact. In the living area, the column becomes a striking feature, framing wall art that celebrates the natural beauty of nearby Lake Como. Vibrant colors further enhance this feature, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for guests upon arrival.

The kitchenette has been strategically placed near the existing plumbing duct, ensuring a convenient setup for services. This area doubles as a functional food preparation zone for guests during their stay. At the entrance, a dedicated closet unit has been provided for each Airbnb unit, giving guests a practical space to store coats, boots, and other belongings before accessing the living and sleeping areas.

The interior design features a sophisticated grayscale palette, complemented by warm timber textures in the cabinetry, panels, and flooring. Accents of vibrant yellow add a playful yet balanced contrast, creating a cozy and inviting environment that offsets the neutral tones.

To enhance functionality, the furniture and lighting fixtures were selected with a minimalist approach, prioritizing ease of cleaning and replacement. This thoughtful choice ensures the space remains clutter-free and guest-friendly at all times.

I believe this project reflects a perfect blend of practicality, aesthetics, and hospitality, making the space both functional and visually appealing for every guest.
