Project Title: Transforming a Former Workshop into a Small Apartment for Short-Term Rental

Overview:
In this project, the empty space of a renovated 170-square-meter workshop has been converted into a small apartment designed for short-term rental purposes. The primary design goal was to create a functional, economical, and aesthetically pleasing environment that meets user needs while minimizing investment costs.

Design Objectives:

Optimal Space Utilization: Given the limited area, the design includes four sleeping spaces (comprising two bedrooms) and a small kitchenette. The plan emphasizes both functionality and aesthetics simultaneously.

Cost-Effectiveness: Furniture and design elements are primarily sourced from economical and well-known brands such as Ikea and Maison du Monde to strike a balance between cost and quality.

Visual Harmony: In line with the client’s preferences, the design incorporates colors such as yellow, gray, and wood tones, paired with light laminate flooring (e.g., whitewashed oak). A modern style was chosen to create a warm, inviting, and chic environment.

Project Challenges:

Central Metal Column: This structural element, which cannot be removed, was transformed from an obstacle into a design feature through creative integration into the space.

Two Separate Entrances: The entrance near the bathroom has been designated as a secondary access point, while the main entrance, directly leading to the courtyard, is intended for guest use.

Design Approach:

Open and multifunctional spaces were utilized to maximize design flexibility.

Modular and space-saving furniture was chosen to maintain functionality while allowing for future adjustments and rearrangements.

Indirect lighting combined with warm colors enhances the sense of calm and coziness in the space.

Final Outcome:
This small apartment, with its smart and economical design, provides a space that not only fulfills short-term accommodation needs but also delivers a sense of luxury and modernity to its users. The combination of functionality, aesthetics, and cost efficiency makes this project a successful example in the field of interior design.
