Project description

The main concept is to create a harmonious, contemporary living space in which the kitchen, dining area, and living room are visually connected while maintaining their individual functions. The layout has been carefully considered to ensure a natural flow between the different areas, balancing practicality, comfort, and aesthetic coherence.

The kitchen island acts as a central functional element, while the dining area is positioned to encourage conviviality and take advantage of the natural light. The living area is designed as a welcoming space for relaxation, with the sofa, media wall, and decorative elements contributing to a balanced and cohesive interior.

A key feature of the project is the existing structural pillar, which is reinterpreted as an architectural opportunity rather than a purely structural constraint. Four alternative design proposals explore different ways to integrate it into the overall interior: recessed shelving for books and decorative objects, concealed vertical LED lighting, continuous lighting extending towards the opposite wall, and a finish coordinated with the kitchen countertop, complemented by a small bench and a glass side panel.

These alternatives aim to transform the pillar into a distinctive design feature while maintaining consistency with the materials, lighting, and overall language of the space.

The attached axonometric views illustrate the proposed spatial arrangement from two different perspectives, while the pillar studies provide a closer look at the possible design solutions.

The overall objective is to achieve a refined, functional, and cohesive living environment in which every element contributes to both the practical use of the space and its architectural identity.

Kind regards
