Suddividere in diverse aree un terrazzo così ampio e far sì che risulti sia funzionale che esteticamente interessante non è semplice, ma il concept di questo progetto è invece molto semplice: le diverse aree sono sottolineate da diversi tipi di pavimentazione (legno/wpc rialzato, prato sintetico, gres porcellanato effetto cemento); sono separazioni che avvengono a terra, ma che non pregiudicano la vista o l'ariosità degli spazi.
Negli angoli più ampi sono state sistemate le aree che richiedono più persone, ovvero la zona pranzo e bbq, e l'area conversazione: le prime due sono anch'esse "separate" dal pavimento—il barbeque con l'aiuola per le spezie è un gradino più in alto rispetto al piano del tavolo; la zona conversazione è la parte più sopraelevata, per garantire una vista migliore sulla città e nascondere gli impianti idraulici del terracquario e della vasca idromassaggio/mini-piscina presenti lì vicino.
Le aree in cui si cammina spesso a piedi scalzi, come l'area giochi e quella prendisole, sono caratterizzate da prato sintetico, del tutto simile a quello vero e privo di manutenzione.
Per allontanare gli sguardi indiscreti e il vento si è pensato all'alternarsi studiato di un brise-soleil in wpc o legno, e di un parapetto in vetro, quest'ultimo accompagnato dalle siepi di ealeagnus: nel primo caso si garantisce la privacy, nel secondo anche la protezione dal vento. Sui tre punti di sosta maggiori, tranne nel prendisole, sono stati sistemati dei pergolati in legno, su cui si appoggia anche l'illuminazione a catenaria; sulla zona pranzo, invece, la pergola diventa bioclimatica, ad alette amovibili e tendaggi che proteggono dal sole diretto e dagli insetti volanti più fastidiosi.
La doccia esterna sarà sistemata sul retro, in corrispondenza del servizio igienico, sia per la facilità relativa all'impianto idrico, sia per la riservatezza data dal muro perimetrale più alto che dalla lontananza alle aree comuni.

Dividing such a large terrace into different areas and making it both functional and aesthetically interesting is not easy, but the concept of this project is very simple: the different areas are highlighted by different types of flooring (raised wood/wpc decking, synthetic lawn, concrete effect porcelain stoneware); they are separations that occur on the ground, but that do not affect the view or the airiness of the spaces.
In the wider corners, the areas that require more people have been arranged, namely the dining area and bbq, and the conversation area: the first two are also "separated" from the floor - the barbeque with the spice bed is one step higher than the table floor; the conversation area is the highest part, to ensure a better view of the city and hide the plumbing systems of the terracquarium and of the hot tub/mini-pool nearby. The areas where you often walk barefoot, such as the play area and the sunbathing area, are characterised by synthetic lawn, very similar to the real one and free of maintenance.
To keep away prying eyes and the wind, there is a studied alternation of a brise-soleil in wpc or wood, and a glass parapet, the latter accompanied by ealeagnus hedges: in the first case privacy is guaranteed, in the second also the wind protection. On the three main stopping points, except in the sundeck, wooden pergolas have been placed, on which the catenary lighting also rests; in the dining area, on the other hand, the pergola becomes bioclimatic, with movable fins and curtains that protect from direct sun and the most annoying flying insects.
The outdoor shower will be placed on the back, in correspondence with the toilet, both for the ease of the water system and for the privacy given by the higher perimeter wall and the distance to the common areas.
