Maremons Hotel is mostly frequented by families who want adventures in nature: its excellent location allows guests to enjoy the sea or make beautiful mountain hikes. That's why I decided that the main theme of all my restructuring would be the nature.
The customer has made it clear that he prefers original works, innovative ideas that gave uniques and unforgettables days spent in the hotel, so I made sure that the references to nature had never trivial, but they was finishes, objects and elements of detail .
The principal element of the intervention is the cherry tree placed in the center of the lobby, because with its delicate flowers and trunk rounded and irregular, is synonymous of beauty and delicacy. Around it were placed a number of chairs, sofas and tables in PVC design, where guests can relax and enjoy the flowers show. The whole is surmounted by a wonderful celing light that takes the shape of a leaf.
At bottom to the hall, clearly visible, but with the right privacy thanks to the presence of vertical strips of walnut and different from each other, it is a fascinating small lounge where you can hold business meetings and appointments.
Next to the lounge are the lifts. Here, the wall was made interesting thanks to the positioning of panels with three-dimensional geometric patterns. Exploiting space staircase located to the right of the lobby, I decided to create a small exhibition space, which can accommodate regular works of the artists who request it. In this way, it will attract not only the attention of the hotel customers, but it will induce the participation of those concerned to look at the pieces of art, which will then be taken advantage of the bars or restaurants.
Left of the entrance, wedged between two pillars round, there is the reception, where the desk, made up of various layers of blue glass cut irregularly and inspired by that dall'archistar Frank Gehry designed for the Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, see the waves of the sea so close to the hotel. The wall closing the space between the reception and the management offices, has been decorated with a wonderful plaster reproducing a rose. Even the managerial offices have been redesigned: it was created a very large meeting room, and cut workstations for managers of the various areas of the hotel.
Turn left from the main lobby, is reached a bar, where you can enjoy a pleasant drink, and after that an area with ​​the tables, which are complemented by the chairs that resemble the shape of a leaf. Against the smaller side of the walls, they were placed gazebos with mattress, where hotel guests or patrons of the bar can have fun and also socialize and consume meals prepared from the nearby kitchen.
The restaurant which is located on the right side of the structure has been completely redesigned in order to make it look modern but not eccentric, that never tires. The different height of the ceiling here was resolved by inserting small structures comprised of panels of wood, in which were included some lights. The floor, unlike the rest of the affected area, is composed alternating bands of ceramic and parquet. Part of the kitchen is kept in view.
Close to the secondary exit, where before there was the area with the phone, it was installed in internet point.
Moving upstairs, the intervention focused on the "à la carte" restaurant. I wanted to create an exclusive and refined restaurant, that could have a sophisticated and romantic ambience, very different from that one described previously. The presence of courtains around the shabby chic tables, guarantees an unforgettable experience. The kitchen has undergone a functional reorganization.
Despite the customer haven't asked, I have proposed two different design solutions for the rooms (one for souite and one for the double room) because if he'll decided to extend the intervention now or in the next future, he may have already some ideas of how can developing its. Please note that the fireplace placed in souite is a fake fireplace, or not covered by the chimney, but it is a modern fireplace water, able to recreate the fire without having to intervene on the existing structures.
The circular columns were coated with light grey resin gray, which provides strength, no leaks visible and is applied directly on the existing surface, so fast and cheap. The result is surprising. The floor was coated (also in this case without disassembling the existing) cement spatula by hand. The false ceiling, made with a technique extremely innovative, is composed of horizontal grooves that want to recall the figure of bamboo.
