In the project the two floors are united in order to create a cohesive Penthouse Home that respects the original structure and forms squared spaces without corners, as you required.
In fact all the different spaces are separated by the movement of the ceilings which are lowered and articulated in order to give dynamism and create game lights and courses were objected of the lights design (see ceilings board).
The 10th floor has mainly a living usage, in fact the two bathrooms are unchanged as well the two bedrooms which are just decorated with luxury furniture.
The living room presents few changes: the dining room is along the East wall, the kitchen is along the West wall to keep the plumbing fixture, the living room is in front of the new staircase, inside the double height space and these two rooms are separated by a wall with an ethanol fire place built in it and a TV site.
The entry is designed as a small living room with a wardrobe because it is the ”welcome” area of the apartment .
As regard the fire escape staircases:
The west side fire escape stairwell is still an entry to the flat while the ramp for the 11th floor is closed in order to create a storage room.
The East side staircase is extended with a ramp for the second floor

The two floors are united through the opening of the living room’s insole in order to create a double height space which is connected with the new East side staircase.
At 11th floor there are two cubes which “come out” from the original brick roof structure and they are made with glass and steel. These two glass volumes are a source of light, in fact they bring light to the 10th floor through the double height space and inside of the original roof structure, so there is not necessity of new windows and the brick front is preserved
The project is designed in order to preserve as much as possible the original brick structure: the extension and demolition works are not too much invasive, the new volumes come out from the current structure, they are integrated with it and their structure recalls the frame of the original windows of the building.
The 11th floor becomes a multifunctional space and it is really impacting thank to the “glass walk” around South terrace which is structurally separated from the living room.
The North side of 11th floor is designed as a living/meeting area and along the East wall there is a library with different spaces for books and/or sculptures and a mini-bar behind two sliding doors. Moreover there are a video-beamer and a sheet beamer built in the ceiling for watching movies, sports or business presentation. In this area there are also a restroom with steam bath and dress-room. Then, the west side fire escape stairwell becomes a bedroom for guests (which can be changed in a game room as well, according to your needs).
The South terrace is a kind of “viewing point” where you can stay together with your guests admiring the skyline. The North terrace instead is a living area for relaxation and dining outside.
At the 10th floor there is dark durmast parquet on floors, while for furniture there is an alternation of dark durmast and white lacquer painted.
At the 11th there is dark durmast on the ceiling to recall the “mood” of the 10th floor, while the floor is made of gloss cement: this material is impacting and at the same time it has mechanic features which ensures its long-lastingness and makes it perfect for entertain many people and parties.
