This design gives priority to thermal and visual comfort. The elegance of interior spaces is defined by the climate based planning. Living areas should have warm diffused light permeating the rooms. Dining and bar-b-que, activities that the family does together, are given central position in the plan. All day and evening time living areas (entrance, living, kitchen, dining, bbq) have an informal connection between them. Bedrooms are given privacy by separating them from living areas with a passage. They have glazing towards the south to allow absorption of solar heat during the day. This will give some relief from the cold interior temperatures at night.
Overall, this design tries to be comfortable, warm and elegant through its respect of the sun, wind and mother nature as a whole.
