For this project, the approach that I considered most appropriate is to keep the location of the central core of bathrooms and kitchen and their respective sanitary facilities in the center of the plant reducing construction times and costs. In this way, I propose for level 1, a studio apartment solution (29.3 m²) with a kitchenette and full bathroom in the central area of the floor and around these an open space for a living room and bedroom separated by a closet and TV furniture.
On this same level, but totally independent, is the master bedroom of the other apartment (81.25 m²). This room has a bathroom located in the same area where the current bathroom is located, only modifying the distribution of the sanitary pieces, under the stairs leading to the upper floor there is a closet and storage space for this room.
Through these stairs, you access the upper level (2) where the rest of the apartment is located. For this level, I developed 3 solutions with small distribution variants in the living/dining room and the child's room. Being able to obtain on the upper floor a work or study space open to the staircase or a version with a double room, maintaining the same location of the existing bathroom and kitchen with slight variations.
Solution A: explores the opportunity to create a space for office or study use adjacent to the child's room, taking advantage of the opening generated by the staircase and a high fixed window to illuminate the area through the only window available in the child's bedroom. An open kitchen without a peninsula, and differentiated dining and living room spaces.
Solution B: proposes a large room for the child that, given its dimensions, could have multiple distribution possibilities; in this case, I suggest a double room with study space. In the other wing, an open kitchen with a linear counter in front of it and combined with a living room whose distribution responds to a wall system furniture located on the front wall, and adjacent to a work area next to the window.
Solution C: shows another version combining elements of the previous two.
