Il progetto di separazione di un appartamento in due appartamenti più piccoli ha avuto origine dallo studio della conformazione degli spazi esistenti, la comprensione dell'orientamento dell'edificio per poter posizionare le nuove funzioni nella posizione più consona, l'analisi delle aperture e finestrature per rispettare i minimi delle superfici illuminate, i vari impianti presenti per non intervenire in maniera massiva su di essi e i muri portanti cercando di evitare troppe bucature o proporre dei ripristini.
La prima considerazione fatta è stata riguardante l'accesso principale, posizionato nel mezzo dell'appartamento, che indica e sottolinea la necessità di dividerlo longitudinalmente.
per l'appartamento a destra è stato ritenuto più opportuno posizionare il soggiorno a sud, in modo che sia la zona più illuminata e riscaldata durante le ore del giorno, rispetto alla camera da letto matrimoniale lasciata a nord. Questa soluzione è ulteriormente avallata se si considerano le aperture presenti, delle quali quella a nord è molto piccola e creerebbe un luogo angusto da vivere durante la giornata. posizionando il soggiorno a sud, l'accesso all'appartamento richiede il lungo corridoio centrale e anche il posizionamento di un ulteriore bagno per gli ospiti, raggiungibile senza attraversare la camera da letto. Da normativa, questo bagno può essere senza finestre solo se reputato secondo bagno, per cui c'è la necessità di creare un primo bagno finestrato, che si è ricavato allargando il bagno esistente. Il secondo bagno è stato posizionato vicino alla colonna di scarico dell'altro appartamento in modo da far confluire gli scarichi nello stesso punto.
L'appartamento di sinistra invece, ha un'ampia finestratura a sud-ovest, per cui si è ragionato maggiormente sulle metrature adatte per garantire spazi vivibili. Si accede direttamente nel soggiorno, con cucina e salotto, per poi accedere ad un disimpegno che affaccia sulla camera matrimoniale, con cabina armadio, e il bagno principale.

The first consideration made was regarding the main access, located in the middle of the flat, which indicates and emphasises the need to divide it longitudinally.
For the flat on the right, it was considered more appropriate to position the living room to the south, so that it would be the area most lit and heated during daylight hours, compared to the master bedroom left to the north. This solution is further endorsed if one considers the openings present, of which the one to the north is very small and would create a cramped place to live during the day. placing the living room to the south, access to the flat requires the long central corridor and also the placement of an additional guest bathroom, which can be reached without crossing the bedroom. According to regulations, this bathroom can only be windowless if it is considered a second bathroom, so there is a need to create a first windowed bathroom, which was created by enlarging the existing bathroom. The second bathroom has been positioned close to the drainage column of the other flat so that the drains flow into the same place.
The flat on the left, on the other hand, has a large window to the south-west, so more thought was given to the right size to ensure liveable space. One enters directly into the living room, with kitchen and sitting room, and then accesses a hallway that leads to the master bedroom, with walk-in wardrobe, and the main bathroom.
