The main goal of this proposal is to design a relaxing and spacious living environment for a contemporary family of five, inspired by the surrounding natural landscape. It wishes to achieve the desired building program for the residence, with the minimum possible interventions into the existing structure.

The proposed design includes the small extension of the North-East side of the residence. The street level volume is enlarged, in order to create an extra parking space for the family. The existing laundry room and WC are converted into a mud room and a big bathroom. A family TV room as well as a new bedroom are situated in the lower basement level.

The small extension of the North-East side of the residence facilitates the enlargement of the master bedroom, as well as its private bathroom and walk-in closet. A new laundry room is designed in the same level..

Finally, the proposal includes small interventions in the main living areas of the family, so as to be organised into an open plan layout. The existing terrace is extended in order to create new outdoor areas. As the house is expanded towards the West, we chose smooth and relaxing forms, so to highlight the connection with the surrounding natural landscape.
