Il progetto prevede la sistemazione del secondo e ultimo piano a completamento di un’abitazione isolata immersa nella campagna siciliana. Di questo piano esiste il telaio in ferro che sosterrà una copertura a due falde leggermente inclinate e la tompagnatura esterna in blocchi di laterizio per la quale il progetto prevede un isolamento esterno “a cappotto” (che non costituisce volume aggiuntivo) per il quale sarà necessario un calcolo più approfondito per determinarne lo spessore più efficace. La richiesta della committenza consiste nel volere 4/5 camere da letto, per complessivi 6/7 posti letto, più i necessari locali accessori. Nel configurare gli ambienti, l’”affollamento” previsto ha indirizzato la scelta che prevede di non comprimere troppo il connettivo (lo spazio comune e di percorrenza) ma, nel contempo, concentrarlo il più possibile per non sacrificare superficie delle camere da letto previste e dotarlo di armadi ad integrazione di quelli presenti in ciascuna delle camere stesse. Le partizioni interne sono realizzate in pareti di cartongesso con doppia lastra su entrambe le facciate e pannelli di materiale fonoisolante sistemato nell’intercapedine. Tale scelta è dettata dalla necessità di contenere il peso gravante sulla struttura sottostante esistente e di contenere gli spessori senza diminuirne la capacità di impedire la trasmissione dei suoni da un ambiente a l’altro.
Sono state previste due soluzioni simili. Entrambe prevedono 4 camere da letto, 3 bagni, un locale lavanderia/ripostiglio e un terrazzo.
La soluzione 1.a prevede 3 camere doppie e una singola, due delle 3 camere doppie hanno il bagno direttamente collegato.
La soluzione 2.a prevede 2 camere doppie e due singole, le due doppie hanno il bagno direttamente collegato.
La caratteristica comune ad entrambe le soluzioni è che le porte di ingresso alle camere e le finestre delle camere stesse sono sempre allineate, ciò consente di avere sempre la campagna circostante presente e visibile a chi, muovendosi per il piano, entra e esce dai vari ambienti. In tal senso la forma verticale delle finestre (pannello vetrato fisso nella parte bassa e anta apribile nella parte alta) esalta questa funzionalità. Concetto che viene estremizzato dalle ampie aperture del bagno della camera padronale e nel bagno comune nella soluzione 1.a e nel bagno comune nella soluzione 1.b dove due grandi cabine doccia walk-in hanno un lato interamente vetrato nel primo caso, come interamente vetrato è il lato della vasca idromassaggio nel secondo.

The project involves the arrangement of the second and top floor to complete an isolated house immersed in the Sicilian countryside. The client's request consists in wanting 4/5 bedrooms, for a total of 6/7 beds, plus the necessary ancillary rooms. In configuring the rooms, the expected "crowding" has guided the choice that involves not compressing too much the connective tissue (the common and travel space) but, at the same time, concentrating it as much as possible so as not to sacrifice the area of ​​the bedrooms provided and equip it with wardrobes to integrate those present in each of the rooms themselves. The internal partitions are made of plasterboard walls with double slabs on both sides and panels of soundproofing material placed in the cavity. This choice is dictated by the need to contain the weight on the existing underlying structure and to contain the thicknesses without decreasing its ability to prevent the transmission of sounds from one environment to another.
Two similar solutions have been envisaged. Both have 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a laundry / storage room and a terrace.
Solution 1.a provides 3 double bedrooms and one single, two of the 3 double bedrooms have the bathroom directly connected.
Solution 2.a includes 2 double bedrooms and two single bedrooms, the two doubles have a bathroom directly connected.
The common feature of both solutions is that the entrance doors to the rooms and the windows of the rooms themselves are always aligned, this allows you to always have the surrounding countryside present and visible to those who, moving on the floor, enter and leave the various environments. . In this sense, the vertical shape of the windows (fixed glass panel in the lower part and opening door in the upper part) enhances this functionality. Concept that is taken to the extreme by the large openings in the bathroom in the master bedroom and in the shared bathroom in solution 1.a and in the shared bathroom in solution 1.b where two large walk-in shower cubicles have a fully glazed side in the first case, as is fully glazed the side of the hot tub in the second.
