As you stated in the brief, your main focus of interest is the redistribution of functions and spaces, together with lighting that fits a contemporary aesthetic. I hope I've managed to achieve the best use of your space and provide you with a highly functional layout that fits your daily needs.
I'm going to briefly go through the proposal floor by floor and explain some of the design decisions.

Level -1
You haven't given a specific function for the basement floor, and therefore I've treated it as an open plan that is adaptable to whatever you might need in the future. For now, it's furnished to fit a few functions: a small study for you or the kids to do homework, or that can be a hobby station, a home library with a large bookshelf fitted on the south wall with seating underneath the window as a reading nook, and a small lounge for the family to hang out or for the kids to have friends over. This area can double as a guest room with a pull-out sofa.
The lighting is simple since the ceiling in this part of the house is very low.

Level 0
The switch between lounge and kitchen positions has been done.
The kitchen is designed in an L-shape, with tall elements as you enter the space with a shelf in the south end reachable from the entrance hall. This line fits the fridge, oven, microwave, and a tall storage unit. The second part of the L shape is a continuous line of low elements fitted with a cooktop. Above there are hanging elements as well. The island is placed in the middle as a visual divider towards the dining area. The island is fitted with a sink and seating on the dining area side. The dining area is furnished with a table that can fit 6-8 people. As the kitchen cabinets continue into the dining area they serve as cabinets for kitchenware for serving and other similar items, and tv can be placed on top of the low cabinets or hung above.
The ceiling is suspended in the kitchen area of this room making the decision of spaces visually clear. Built-in lights and a led strip along the edge of the suspended ceiling towards the dining space and suspended lamps above the island.
From the kitchen space, the storage room door is hidden as a part of the kitchen elements, and it's furnished as a laundry room and pantry.
The bathroom has a large walk-in shower, double sink, and toilet and bidet.
The lounge is furnished with a sofa and additional lounge chair, a low cabinet fitted with a bioethanol fireplace, and a tv station.
The ceiling in the lounge is suspended with a built-in led strip and suspended chandelier centered inside the led strip rim.

Level 1
There have been some modifications to the walls on this floor regarding the small kids' bedroom.
As the room is very small, the bed is "pushed into the wall" to ache I've more walkable area. As thIs wall is a load-bearing wall a beam is left above the bed area.
The small bedroom is furnished with a wardrobe, desk, and bed with built-in lights above the bed.
The larger children's bedroom is furnished with two beds and a large desk along the wall where the window is, and wardrobes built-in on the east wall.
The master bedroom is furnished with a large king-size bed with night
stands and a built-in wardrobe along the south wall where one of the windows was eliminated.
The bathroom is similarly equipped as the one on level 0.
