For this design i propose to divided the renovation in to 2 stages.i do this to expect that you will have another kids. so maybe you will need 3 bedroom on your house.
1st phase
the goal of this phase is to give you more comfortable living with 2 bedroom configuration. so at this phase master bedroom will have walk in closet & private bathoom.i dont make a lot of change from your current apartment condition, just to have new fixture on 2 bathroom, new floor for coridor (suggest marmoleum flooring), kitchen and dining (wood flooring like parquet or vinyl ), & bathroom,moving the wall of laundry area so laundry area now will have a window inside for better air circulation,enlarge the bathroom at the end of corridor for master bathroom.all your current furniture still can be used. i suggest for buy new furniture for walk in closet, desk table & chair in the master bathroom. with this setting i think you can save money for future expansion.
2nd Phase
The Goal of this phase is to give 3 bedroom and an open living space. at this phase master bedroom,walk in closet, master bathroom from 1st phase will keep remain. fixture for another bathroom can be reuse. kitchen and bathroom need to relocate to have an open living area and island at the kitchen for breakfast time. more furniture will be added for kids bedroom. and maybe for kitchen.
