Chesapeake Properties is a construction, real estate investment and property management company located in the Historic District of Annapolis, Maryland. We just signed a lease for a retail space that we will convert to office. Annapolis is a historic city and we would like our office to have a modern feel but includes historic elements, such as the reclaimed wood that we have from our properties. This must be a business functional office with 3 private offices and 3 workstations. We would like a theme of older wood and modern steel but we are open to other ideas. We would like ideas on color schemes also for walls and flooring. We prefer lighter colored woods to make the space feel brighter and more open.
In the pictures you will see benches by the windows. These can be removed. Additionally, you will see a raised platform in the back leading to the bathroom and kitchen. The raise platform can be removed. We must have access to the bathroom/kitchen, but that can be accomplished with a few stairs. You will see a large boxed in column in the middle of the room (in blue) — that contains a 4″ lolly column which must remain, but the large box can be removed. The door to the space next to us (in white and on same side as the fireplace) must remain. We can remove the part of the fireplace that pushes out about a foot into the space.
Our main focus is the design of the conference room and the reception area. We must have a place for prospects to view our properties on line, fill out an application on line and engage with our website. We were thinking a standing platform or countertop with 2-3 Macs or one design computers.
We also must have a conference room with a large eraseable surface, it can be glass or a whiteboard or other surface. We will need a large TV or monitor in the conference room for our construction and design meetings. The conference room should be glass so that light can make it through to the rest of the office. We would like a reclaimed wood/steel conference room table. We want this office to FEEL like a construction space and to be easy for us to meet with our subcontractors, vendors, tradesmen and review the plans.
The reception area should have a seating area (couch, chairs, other) and the counter with Macs for prospects to use. The reception area has been the hardest part for us to design correctly. It would be great if a small table could fit.
the bathroom and kitchen are out of view and in the back so we don’t have to worry about losing space to those.
