The project aims to meet the requirements or design guidelines raised by the client through a contemporary housing proposal that seeks to adapt to the heterogeneity of uses of an intergenerational family.
The commission was ambitious since it consisted of a remodeling almost entirely of the interior and also had exterior uses of removable pool and a social area capable of adapting to different functions, understanding this as a multifunctional space.
Inside the space was distributed again almost entirely, maintaining only the vertical circulation (stairs) and the sanitary and hydraulic facilities where it allowed, seeking to adapt the design to the needs of the new family, but always trying to be consistent with the investment, the saving of materials and monetary. The space on the ground floor is achieved in a very clean way, eliminating all unnecessary horizontal circulation space (corridors, hall, etc.), achieving a direct transition from one space to another, these being fully used for the development of the activities that will be carried out in them. This level has semi-public spaces such as terraces, kitchen, living room; and more private spaces such as a bathroom and a study room that at the same time functions as a guest room due to the furniture it has, allowing to change the use available to users. In the second level of the house is designed maintaining the same line of thought of taking advantage of the spaces in themselves. At this level the most private life of the house is developed, it is where the three bedrooms are located, each with a distribution and specific furniture for users, where within each of these spaces a different experience is lived. At this level it is about keeping the bathrooms aligned with those of the lower level in order to reduce costs achieving greater effectiveness in sanitary facilities.
The proposal does not modify the design of the volume of the house to avoid asking for building permits and streamline the process, not being able to experiment with the volumetry of the building, the design seeks to generate that impact on the interior and exterior design, generating dynamic atmospheres in all spaces of the house through furniture, finishing materials, smell, lighting and ventilation thus allowing experimentation with the senses of the owners and users of the property.
