The design concept is about the house transformation into a “student home” through very little building works, in order to keep low the cost of the renovation. Kitchen reorganization represent the heart of the project; this room will be not only the cooking place, but also a dining/living room. This goal will be reached by a small demolition of the wall between the actual kitchen and the corridor, and the installation of a big double sliding door; this solution makes a multi-purpose and flexible space: 1. when the door is closed, we have a closed kitchen divided by the rest of the house; 2. when the door is opened, we have a bigger open space enlarged until join the corridor. The epoxy floor of the kitchen and of the corridor with a unique pattern increases the sensation to have a bigger room, and the corridor becomes a part of the room instead of a little vestibule. In order to have more comfortable bedrooms there will be installed new wood flooring in place of the present one, that will be necessarily removed for systems installing. All the furniture of all the rooms and of the kitchen have been chosen by Ikea catalogue with special attention both to the price and the beauty. The new wood flooring has been chosen by Leroy Merlin catalogue. The Preliminary Cost Estimate is based on our experiences about similar building works, while the price of the items has been extracted by the factory price list.
