Dear Sirs/Madam
here follow our proposal as regards the apartments object of the contest.
Our goal was to find a simple distributive solution of spaces, in accordance with the necessity of merging two apartments with that very peculiar layout.
We therefore decided to clearly divide the new space distribution through a path along which such spaces are articulated.
The day area i.e. the entrance, the leaving, the TV/relax area and the dining, are part of one sole continuous space articulated one next to the other one, occupying entirely the first apartment, the smallest one.
The kitchen comprises also a dining area for the family and a service area and constitutes an area in between spaces, a transition towards the wider night area in the second apartment.
Our path proceeds towards the night area, a series of different closed spaces, 3 bedrooms and a study/guest room, accompanied by the 4 bathrooms and the laundry/maid room.
In designing comfortable bathrooms we choosed simplicity by keeping bath equipment as close as possible to the existing draining infrastructure to minimize disruption, therefore reallocating available space between the already existing ensuite bathrooms (alongside the master bedroom and the study).
Taking advantage of the high ceilings, the hallway is equipped with a loft approach to provide additional storage space for the benefit and confort of the family.
The second entrance on the right side apartment can be maintained as an emergency entrance, still allowing at a later stage in time to separate a mini studio apartment.
