Nella mia proposta ho scelto di rialzare il pavimento interno fino alla quota del giardino: in questo modo è possibile creare il vespaio aerato, l'isolamento e il necessario spessore per la collocazione degli impianti a pavimento senza effettuare alcuno scavo.
Sul lato ovest ho arretrato la posizione delle finestre per poter raggiungere la distanza di 10 metri dal fronte finestrato antistante e ho cercato di ricavare la maggiore superficie vetrata possibile per poter inondare di luce gli ambienti collocati sotto la volta a botte. Considerato che le vetrate sono molto disperdenti dal punto di vista termico, ho creato una serra bioclimatica posizionando una seconda parete vetrata esterna amovibile che d'inverno ha il compito di “catturare” i raggi solari, mentre nella stagione estiva le pareti scorrono e si impacchettano scomparendo alla vista; la posizione arretrata dei serramenti rispetto alla facciata dell'edificio fa' si che i raggi solari estivi non arrivino al vetro evitando il surriscaldamento dei locali.
La serra bioclimatica viene prevista anche sulle pareti vetrate del lato sud (cucina al piano terra e cameretta/studio al piano primo).
Sulla parete est vengono mantenute le “luci” esistenti (che rimangono tali anche con l'innalzamento del pavimento interno); queste luci offrono ventilazione naturale al bagno padronale e alla scala che sale al soppalco interno. Inoltre sulla parete est viene ricavata in corrispondenza della zona pranzo una nuova ampia finestra nella fascia libera da costruzioni antistanti.
Sul lato sud a 5 metri dalla strada di accesso è stato aggiunto un nuovo volume destinato all'autorimessa che, in parte, occupa anche una porzione del piano terra esistente. Avendo un'altezza contenuta l'autorimessa sul lato est può sorgere sul filo della costruzione esistente poiché la distanza confini esistente è superiore alla metà dell'altezza del nuovo volume, come indicato nelle norme urbanistiche comunali. Questo discorso vale anche per l'ampliamento sul lato nord (centrale termica).
La scala esistente che porta al piano primo viene demolita; senza ulteriori interventi strutturali, in una parte di questo vano scala viene prevista la scala interna che dalla zona giorno porta al piano primo destinato a cameretta e studio (oltre al bagno). Dal lato sud del piano primo si accede alla copertura verde dell'autorimessa che diventa un ampio giardino pensile a esclusivo uso della cameretta.
La mia soluzione di progetto non prevede divisioni rigide degli spazi interni: per esempio la zona giorno è divisa dalla zona notte solo da un vetro. Nel caso si desideri una maggiore privacy è possibile adattare la soluzione di progetto ad una proposta più convenzionale.
All'interno dello spazio con volta a botte, sopra la zona destinata alla camera padronale, viene ricavato un soppalco ad uso studio. Le dimensioni del soppalco sono limitate dalla presenza dei tiranti strutturali la cui rimozione precluderebbe in maniera significativa la staticità del fabbricato.

In my proposal I chose to raise the inside floor till the garden level: in this way it is possible to create the aerated vespaio, the insulation and the necessary thickness for the placement of the floor systems without making any excavation.
On the west side I moved back the position of the windows in order to reach the distance of 10 meters from the front window and I tried to obtain the largest glass surface possible to enlight the rooms placed under the barrel vault. Considering that the windows are very dispersing from the thermal point of view, I created a bioclimatic greenhouse by placing a second removable external glass wall that in winter has the task of "capturing" the sun's rays, while in the summer the walls flow and pack disappearing from sight; the placed back position of the doors and windows with respect to the building façade means that the summer solar rays do not reach the glass avoiding overheating of the rooms.
The bioclimatic greenhouse is also provided on the glass walls of the south side (kitchen on the ground floor and bedroom / studio on the first floor).
On the east wall the existing "lights" (which remain, even with the raising of the internal floor) are kept; these lights provide natural ventilation to the master bathroom and to the staircase that goes up to the internal mezzanine. Furthermore, on the east wall a new large window is obtained in the dining area in the zone without buildings in front of it.
On the south side, 5 meters from the access road, a new volume has been added for the garage which, in part, also occupies a portion of the existing ground floor. Having a contained height the garage on the east side can arise at the same level of the existing building since the existing boundary distance is higher than half of the height of the new volume, as indicated in the municipal town planning norms. This also applies to the expansion on the north side (thermal power plant).
The existing staircase leading to the first floor is demolished; without further structural interventions, in one part of this stairwell I planned the internal staircase which leads from the living area to the first floor, intended for a bedroom and studio (in addition to the bathroom). From the south side of the first floor there is access to the green roof of the garage which becomes a large roof garden for the exclusive use of the bedroom.
My design solution does not provide rigid divisions of the interior spaces: for example, the living area is divided from the sleeping area only by a glass. If more privacy is desired, it is possible to adapt the project solution to a more conventional proposal.
Inside the barrel vaulted space, above the area destined to the master bedroom, a mezzanine for studio is obtained. The dimensions of the mezzanine are limited by the presence of structural tie rods whose removal would significantly preclude the static nature of the building.
