ID Project Description - Open Living Space Go Pillar

Proposed Solutions:

Living Room:
By removing the wall next to the table we created a more open and spacious living and dining area that are in symbiotic relationship. We used the space of the demolished wall to make a bench/sitting area that can be used in the dining setting but also as part of the living room when there is a bigger number of people /guests in the house. In this way we maximize the use of space and create a fluidity in the living area where everybody is included - the ones cooking, dining and casual interacting in the living room.
Above the bench there is an area for storage also - its is modeled as open shelving but also can be closed cupboards. The TV Shelf is imagined to be custom made and take up the whole length of the wall to increase the storage space also and reduce clutering all over the area.
Living room furniture is advised to be modular for bigger flexibility of the space.

Kitchen:
The kitchen is mostly preserved for its authenticity with its finishes. The idea is to extend the front par (where the bar is) and make it one level surface that can be used both as a food preparation area and a quick breakfast or drinks on the bar. The stove is to be a bigger one, as requested. The right corner has been modified to maximize the storage space with integrated open shelving for easier access and a built-in fridge.

Finishes and Materials:
I added a material board as a suggestion what materials should be used - combining the warm dark wood color with light cream tones to open up the space and make it seem bigger. To add a modern vibe to it you can implement the black window/door frames and use gold details for fixtures and handles for example. It works perfectly in an authentic-modern combination.

TIPS:
Choose furniture that is scaled to the space and can be easily rearranged to accommodate different need
Consider using multifunctional furniture, such as a coffee table with storage or a sofa bed, to save space
Use light colors and reflective surfaces to make the space feel larger and brighter
Avoid cluttering the space with too much furniture or accessories
Use vertical space to your advantage by hanging shelves or cabinets on the walls
