Project goals

This project provides a living space that is both multifunctional and comfortable. The space is divided into three fully furnished areas, complete with appliances needed for everyday life.

The main idea behind the project is to accommodate as many residents as possible in comfortable living conditions. One of the highlights of the space includes an insulated sliding door between apartments A and B, which gives you the flexibility to accept larger families of up to five people. Sliding this door open makes up a large living space with two bathrooms, a kitchen, and two beds, while keeping it closed separates the apartments into individual units. Apartment C is independent of these two apartments and can accommodate up to 5 people.

As far as living conditions go, on the bottom level of all apartments there is one bathroom, a recreational area (sofa bed with TV), and a fully furnished kitchen (apart from apartment A). Unfortunately, the bidet was placed only in apartment C, as in other apartments there simply wasn't enough room for it. A lot of emphasis is put on smart storage options that preserve space. Tourists who arrive at the premises can store their suitcases right away, and there are a number of built-in cupboards, cabinets, and shelves all around the apartments.

All upper levels contain a double bed and wardrobe that do not interfere with easy movement around the space. Apartment C also features a suspended net that adds a special touch to the space. This net is easy to install, provides a unique relaxation area, and doesn't block natural light or circulation of air.

Structural changes

To divide the space into three apartments, you'll need to brick off the door that is currently separating apartments A and C, and open up a new door that will provide access to apartment C from the common corridor.

Air

To control climate, three air conditioners are placed indoors, alongside the northern wall. This is an ideal position for them as it allows you to heat and cool both the lower and upper levels of the space. The outside portion of your air conditioner (condenser unit) can be placed anywhere along the roof and you can connect it with the indoor units using a variable refrigerant flow or another system that is energy efficient. You can also place an additional ventilation system in the bedrooms on the second floor (details on the plans).

Look

Overall, the interior design makes use of subtle colors, earthly tones, and different finishing to blend the apartment in with the surrounding area. Natural stone and wood materials are recommended, as well as substitutes that mimic them. Flooring is mostly comprised of laminated wood and ceramic tiles to provide the best cost, endurance, and cleaning effort.

Light

Furniture and structural components are laid out in a way to allow for natural light to gently and evenly enter the apartments through the existing windows. At night, hanging and integrated LED lights ensure the space is well illuminated while accent and ambient lighting (such as those found in walls) create a cozy and romantic atmosphere. You will find more details on lighting and electrical plans attached with this project.

Water

As requested, the apartments have individual pipes running from the main collector to the points of water intake. The main collector is conveniently located at the same spot your existing communications are placed. This makes it easy to access and maintain the system from the common corridor, as well as from the wardrobe on the second floor.

Hope your guests enjoy living in this newly renovated space!
