I proposed two alternative layout designs. Both designs have open kitchen layout design concept for integrating living and kitchen.
In the alternative one design, I changed the position of the living room and dining room. Dining room (2) is located next to the kitchen (3), and I demolished the wall between these two rooms. The wine storage is positioned in the dining room along the wall. The design as can be seen in the render view, I use LED strip light in the storage. Under the wine storage rack, there are more storages for entertainment equipment. Drink bar is position in the kitchen island with 3 seat bars. For the appliances, I choose French fridge freezer (big size) with UK size and microwave oven with the biggest size.
Living room (1) is positioned in the middle of the ground floor. Since it does not have direction light from window, I used glass partition for dividing the living room and working room (4), and the door for accessing from working and outside is changed to the glass door in order to enter more light.
I proposed the sliding doors with blur glasses separating living room with dining room/ kitchen area and playing room (5). The doors can be closed incase unexpected guests come. The blur glasses still allow the light comes in, yet will not show the mess.
I proposed the bathroom additional fixture, which is Bidet Electric Digital. I also changed the toilet and sink position to make more storage under the stairs (existing toilet position). I conversed the garage to the mudroom (7) for dog shower and shoes/coat/winter gear closet and utility room (laundry) (8).
For the furniture, I keep some existing furniture, such as red large and small sofas in living room, bookcase in working room, tv media unit and storage crate in playing room. I proposed design with modern style with clean lines with monochromatic color palette, such as black, white and touch of maroon because of the existing sofa color. Wood material is chosen to add warmth color to the room. Even though I keep the existing sofa, I recommend to change the existing sofa to more modern sofa.
I proposed under shelves lighting, recessed led strip light ceiling/wall to make more fun ambience to complete the modern look of the spaces.
In the alternative two design. I changed the position of kitchen (4) and the entrance (1). I conversed garage into the entrance with floor level lower than the living room. I recommend to take off shoes to enter the living room, so the entrance which has the same level from the utility room (8) will be a place to change outside shoes to inside slippers. There is a closet for shoes/coat/winter or summer gear in the entrance.
I demolished wall between entrance and living room, and between living room and dining room to make the room more open. I also proposed the sliding doors with blur glasses between dining room and kitchen. I placed the playing room (5) next to kitchen and it separated by glass wall so you can watch the kids playing in the playing room from the kitchen.
Living room (2) is located near the entrance with existing thickening wall for the fireplace. I recommend to change the fireplace to ethanol fireplace and tv is placed above it. I proposed wood hanging shelves besides the thickening wall.
