The small size of the
studio led the project to choices of extreme levity (both in architectural
elements and in furnitures), oriented to the maximum use of the space. The six workstations are
located in order to have the best lighting, from the skylight and from the
window near the door. On the entrance floor, the
requested toilet and a small storage room are located under the balcony. (An
office always needs a storage space). The paving is in silver
rovere wood in order to have an “harmonious contrast” between the warm colour
of the brick and the white colour of the steel stairs. This is formed by
C-section steel beams which are at the same time steps and shelves for little
books or other objects. It was designed in white steel in order to stand out on
the background brick wall. Books and objects will give it a touch of colour. The balcony is supported
by HEA section beams which cover the distance between the 6,39 wall and the oblique
wall. The parapet is designed as a low light bookshalves. The balcony can be furnished
with chairs and a bench. The paving of the balcony is in white steel sheets.
