Our project seeks to meet both of the client's needs, blending sleek nordic inspired furniture with industrial touches that share the same color scheme. We wanted to merge the living area with dining and kitchen, making one big living space that can be flexible with guests, parties or taking care of children. Taking into consideration the great terrace space that is available, both the dining and kitchen are directly connected to the terrace with floor-to-ceiling sliding doors, allowing for a great breakfast area outside for sunny days. We have divided the living room and distribution corridor with a free-standing bookshelf that is both ornamental and helps maintain the space tidier giving extra storage room for our client's belongings. This division creates a corridor that gives the living area a bit of privacy and acts as a buffer zone in which the family can arrive, take their shoes and coats off and then enter the main living area or decide to go directly into their separate rooms. The main bedroom is spacious and allows for a small, private sitting area and has the flexibility to have a TV if the client wants. There are two bathrooms, one with just a shower (bathroom in the render) and another bathroom with a shower/bathtub. The child's bedroom fits a single bed comfortably that has storage space underneath it, allows for ample room for play and has a small study space for private reading or homework. At the far end of the apartment, we have the walk-in closet with a private studio space. The studio is meant to fit tightly with the closet space, allowing enough space for a small island on which to sit on for putting shoes off and on.
The main living area has large ceramic tiles with a concrete-like effect, the terrace floor will be replaced with wood-like ceramic tiles arranged in a herringbone pattern. Both bathrooms have both black and white tiles, black on the floor, and white on walls.
