The apartment maintains a double entrance, from inside the villa and from the terrace. The room with the Catalan Vault ceiling becomes the kitchen, the heart of everyday life with a large wall equipped with burners and sink, a wall of storage columns and refrigerator and a very long wooden table that is used both for work and for family lunches. A gap separates the kitchen from the living room with a double-sided fireplace. The living area consists of two areas, a relaxation area in front of the fireplace with a TV corner and a reading area with a round table in front of the large window overlooking the terrace, a table that can accommodate more formal lunches if required. The large pillar in the center of the house is left free as is the wooden ceiling. The sleeping area is bordered but not closed to full height, inside the rooms and bathrooms can be made false ceilings if you want to close the rooms. The master bedroom has a large private bathroom with a bathtub while the children's room has a bathroom that can also be used by guests and during the day. Being an apartment in a large family home I thought not to devote large space to containers imagining that there are other spaces. In this way the house, while delimiting real closed rooms, maintains the current effect of a bright and welcoming open space with the beautiful existing terracotta floors that are maintained, cleaned and treated with wax.
