In the project provided the arrangement of the furniture is already the one you will have when the kids move out and the house is split in 4 units. Except for the main stairs from ground to 1st floor which we needed to show you where they shall be placed in the current house plan, when the house is split those can be removed and you would have additional space in each floor.
New external stairs on the front of the house should be built to access the 1st floor from the terrace. We made a render of this solution too to show you how it would look like.
Also, before the split, in the basement instead of the laundry there would be a door to allow connection between ground floor and basement.
