Kohan Ceram Headquarter

The project serves as the headquarters for the Kohan Ceram Brick Manufacturing Company. By preserving the existing concrete structure, the architect designed a special brick to represent the factory. The project explores how a well-known building material can move beyond a simple role to change perceptions of a complicated building and how to reduce visual disturbance in the urban scenery by introducing "weak forms" as building objects.

Architectural Features and Performance
Thermal Regulation: The facade design uses a brick thermal mass with a plastofoam thermal break to manage temperature. This system allows for the storage of heat during the day and utilizes "thermal lag" to keep the interior cool during the day.

Lighting and Ventilation: The specialized bricks are designed to control daylighting, as illustrated in the project's lighting function diagrams.

Construction and Assembly: The brick system involves specific assembly techniques, where circular elements are inserted into the bricks, and the bricks are connected using structural elements.

Urban Integration: The design aims to address issues like "material overload," "form overload," and "color overload" within the urban landscape, positioning the architecture as a cohesive element near a park.
