The project was born from the idea of a minimalist house. The client wanted to build a Tiny Home on a huge plot of land (32,300 ft2) on the Cañón de La Huasteca, which is a beautiful mountain range located just outside of the city of Monterrey, Mexico. This beautiful landscape provided by the mountains was of course, the protagonist of this project.
The programme of the house was kept as simple as possible, hosting only the necessary spaces for daily life of a young couple.
We proposed a concrete box, containing a kitchen, dining, living room, and laundry on the first level; and a mezzanine with the master bedroom and bathroom.
The “soul” of the project is the double height living room with glazed sliding doors, that provides unobstracted views of the mountain range to the first level and to the master bedroom which overlooks the double heighted space, thus, blending the exterior landscape with the interior to have permanent contact with nature, even while being indoors, so the user can enjoy the beautiful sights of the mountains.
