Studio CLI - Erasmus University

On November 13, 2018, the new Erasmus Education Lab & Studio was festively opened on the Erasmus Campus in Rotterdam after a year of preparation and realization.
The Erasmus Education Lab & Studio, designed in collaboration with Edina Peli (KRED), is the new beating heart of the Community for Learning & Innovation (CLI).
A sculptural interior landscape connects the studio volumes with the public staircase of the main atrium and offers the other functions a stage, warmth and security in the otherwise open and transparent space. This public part contains project rooms and open debate and studio space.

The studios are finished externally with an oak slat structure that transitions into a suspended ceiling zone in organic fanning patterns. The technical installations are bundled behind this ceiling zone. The wood motif of the slatted ceiling is mirrored on the floor by means of an oak parquet. The floor around this central space is finished in a cast floor.
