Descrizione

The project follows the client’s request for an L-shape house. The living zone (kitchen, living room and dining room) is located in the “front” north part of the plot, which is closest to the main road and main access to the site. The sleeping zone (bedrooms) is placed along the west border, thus enclosing a spacious back yard with a southeast orientation.
The garage is located in the northeast corner of the plot and has a direct connection to the main road, living area and back yard. It is envisioned with a double access through 2 garage doors located on the opposite sides of the house- the front one serving for car access and the back one connecting the garage with the outdoor gathering/party area. It also has a door leading inside the living area and the kitchen, which could prove useful when the garage is used for gatherings or just in every day grocery shopping. On top of the garage is the attic, which can be accessed through a trap door through the garage. On this second level there is a space for some technical installation, like heating or water storage tank for a future solar thermal system.
The main entrance to the house is also located along the north façade. It leads to a small entrance space that is not separated in a different room but is rather a corner of the living room. Next to it is also the entrance to the bathroom for the living area, which contains the laundry area, separated from the rest of the bathroom with sliding doors. Visually separated from the seating area but still part of the same open space is the kitchen, with direct access to a pantry room. In the kitchen, a breakfast/lunch area is provided in addition to the dining table. This whole area is connected to the backyard both visually and physically with window doors.
The children’s bedrooms, one bathroom and the master bedroom with a walk-in closet compose the sleeping area. The bedrooms are placed along the west façade and are connected to the rest of the house and the back yard through a corridor. In this way they get the afternoon sun, but also this corridor isolates them from any noise in the yard that might disturb the occupants and gives them a bit more privacy. The master bedroom has a direct connection to the back yard and the children’s play area through window doors, so that the occupant might keep an eye on their children playing with friends and still relax in the privacy of their own room, isolated from the resulting noise.
