Il nostro progetto si basa sull'incorporazione dello spazio interno ed esterno e sul fatto che i due lavorano insieme e creano vari ambienti intorno alla casa, adatti a tutte le occasioni sociali e private. La casa è situata nella parte superiore del sito, per connettersi direttamente con entrambe le strade e facilitare la circolazione. Questo lascia anche la meravigliosa area verde aperta a sud per uno splendido giardino - appartato dalle strade, ma aperto alla luce e all'aria. Di conseguenza, la casa si apre ai lati benefici del sud e dell'est per sfruttare al massimo questo giardino. Il soggiorno si estende a questo scopo a sud, proteggendo così l'ingresso e la terrazza dal vialetto.
La disposizione interna della casa è secondo il "Feng Shui", l'antico modo cinese e giapponese di organizzare uno spazio che ha modellato il design moderno della villa sin dal suo inizio. Questi principi si allineano con un'organizzazione spaziale ottimale e rendono la casa funzionale e piena di energia. Nel centro di gravità delle case - vicino all'ingresso, tra la cucina, la sala da pranzo e il soggiorno, si trova il camino, un simbolo caldo del cuore della casa e del successo. Le zone giorno e pranzo sono nel sud-est, corrispondenti a settori di socializzazione e buona comunicazione. La cucina si trova nel settore occidentale, a vantaggio della famiglia e della buona salute. La camera da letto principale si trova nel nord-ovest, patria della fortuna e della buona ricchezza, mentre le altre due camere sono uguali e guardano verso est, verso il sole nascente, considerato il miglior settore per vitalità e motivazione. La fine di un lungo corridoio verso nord termina in una grande finestra, questa zona è considerata il punto di ingresso della fama e del successo nella casa e può essere utilizzata anche come un piccolo angolo di lettura grazie alla sua luce calma da nord- Nord Ovest. I due spazi di servizio - il barbecue aperto e il parcheggio con servizi pubblici si estendono dal corpo principale come due ali sotto le pergole, ognuna collegata al suo spazio ottimale - barbecue alla zona pranzo e utilità vicino alla cucina e alla lavanderia.
Da un aspetto funzionale la casa ha diverse voci (contrassegnate sul piano con triangoli) che intendono facilitare la comunicazione. Oltre all'ingresso principale, dalla fazione accanto alla piscina, alla sala da pranzo e all'ampia zona giorno - ingresso nel cuore della casa, c'è un ingresso secondario in cucina. Questa entrata vicino alla cucina serve per entrare rapidamente dal parcheggio, comodo quando si va per grandi gite di shopping o piove fuori. Una terza entrata è direttamente nella camera da letto principale, in modo da poter navigare più facilmente in cucina e in auto la mattina. Il lato est si apre in entrambe le camere da letto e in un piccolo patio privato tra le camere da letto e la sala da pranzo - in questo modo è possibile utilizzare privatamente questa parte del giardino in modo rilassato.
Gli aspetti ambientali sono stati affrontati in diversi modi, per rendere la casa flessibile e compatibile con gli standard attuali e, ancora più importante, con gli standard futuri. Il primo passo è stato la scelta dei materiali per l'esterno più adatti al clima locale. Questo viene fatto seguendo i metodi tradizionali di costruzione: l'uso di intonaco a calce bianca che in estate riflette il calore e mantiene sia gli esterni che gli interni più freddi, mentre in inverno rende l'ambiente più luminoso e più caldo in combinazione con un diverso spessore di isolamento termico secondo all'orientamento. Ad esempio, il freddo nord e l'est porterebbero uno strato più spesso di isolamento rispetto al soleggiato sud e ovest, che sono a loro volta rivestiti in blocchi di pietra locale, per imitare il paesaggio e aggiungere contrasto al calcare bianco - una combinazione di estetica e funzionale Le due ali di servizio hanno pergole in legno sulla cima di un muro autoportante rivestito in una più scura varietà di pietra, per separarle visivamente dal corpo principale della casa.
Il piano è composto da due assi principali: l'asse della cucina e della zona pranzo e il corridoio che collega la zona giorno e quella notte. In questo modo le zone giorno e notte sono adeguatamente separate e le stanze di servizio sono ordinatamente disposte tra, lasciando due piccole nicchie di spazio verde che lasciano entrare aria fresca laterale - in questo modo tutte le camere da letto possono essere ventilate da due lati, e il servizio lavanderia e i bagni possono ventilare verso aree fresche in ombra parziale.
Il volume della casa è inferiore a 1050 metri cubi, gli spazi sono leggermente più alti del solito - aggiungendo comfort, aria e luce. Il problema dell'altezza monotona viene risolto ponendo due aree più alte di fronte alle strade: la camera da letto principale e il soggiorno. La camera da letto principale ha un soffitto più alto di 50 cm per mantenerlo in buona proporzione alle sue dimensioni più grandi. L'altezza del soggiorno viene modificata in due modi: in primo luogo sollevando il tetto per 70 cm e in secondo luogo abbassando il pavimento per 40 cm. Questo gioco con le altezze è correlato alla topografia del sito, in quanto esiste una piccola differenza lungo la direzione nord-ovest-sud-est che la casa assume e aggiunge un forte valore ambientale.
Innanzitutto, il camino viene sollevato e funge da secondo televisore, aggiungendo più azione allo spazio. In secondo luogo, la stanza è nettamente separata dalla cucina, il che consente di posizionare un bel bar tra le pareti portanti: il bar ha la stessa altezza di qualsiasi apparecchio da cucina, quindi è facile per il servizio e dal soggiorno è il altezza 1 m ottimale per sgabelli da bar. Questo a sua volta crea due settori nella zona giorno: un'area salotto vicino al bar, di fronte a un sole della sera occidentale, e un'area TV di fronte alla terrazza, dove il sole non ostacolerà la visione della TV. La parete occidentale della zona giorno ha finestre più alte delle altre: questo aiuta a catturare il sole invernale inferiore e a ventilare attraverso i venti estivi.
La casa ha un tetto piano su tre altezze, con una forte esposizione est e sud, che consente di posizionare i pannelli solari con l'angolazione ottimale. Lungo i pannelli, la raccolta dell'acqua piovana è anche possibile tramite i collettori a pioggia sul tetto, che possono essere cantati tramite rigole verso le cisterne nei bagni o in cucina e successivamente utilizzati come acqua di servizio
Il paesaggio della casa è stato realizzato con tipi di piante locali idonei, per ridurre tutta la manutenzione del giardino e creare un ambiente con i materiali locali della facciata - fornendo ombra e freschezza dove necessario

Our project is based on incorporating the interior and exterior space and making the two work together and create various ambients around the house, suitable for all social and private ocassions. The house is situated on the upper part of the site, to directly connect with both streets, and make easier circulation. This also leaves the wonderful open green area to the south for a splendid garden - secluded from the streets, yet open to light and air. Accordingly, the house opens to the beneficial sides of south and east to use this garden to its maximum potential. The living room extends for this purpose to the south, thus shielding the entrance and terrace from the driveway.
The internal arrangement of the house is according to "Feng Shui", the ancient Chinese and Japanese way of organizing a space that shaped modern villa design from its very beginning. These principles align with optimal spatial organization and make the house both functional and full of good energy. In the houses center of gravity - near the entrance, between the kitchen, dining room and living room, is the camino, a warm symbol of home heart and success. The living and dining areas are in the south east, corresponding to sectors of socialization and good communication. The kitchen is in the west sector - beneficial of family and good health. The master bedroom is in the north-west - home of fortune and good wealth, whilst the two other bedrooms are equal in size and view eastwards, towards the rising sun, considered the best sector for vitality and motivation. The end of a long corridor towards the north ends in a large window, this area is considered the entry-point of fame and success into the house, and can be additionaly used as a small reading corner thanks to its calm light from the north-northwest. The two service spaces - the open barbecue and parking space with utilities extend from the main body like two wings under pergolas, each attached to its optimal space - barbecue to the dining area, and utility near the kitchen and laundry.
From a functional aspect the house has several entries (marked on the plan with triangles) which intend to make communication easier. Apart from the main entry, from the pation next to the pool, into the dining room and wide living area - entry into the home's heart, there is a secondary entry at the kitchen. This entry near the kitchen serves for quick entry from the car parking spot, convenient when you go for large shopping trips or its raining outside. A third entry is directly into the master bedroom, so you can navigate to the kitchen and car in the morning easier. The east side opens in both bedrooms and to a small private patio between the bedrooms and dining room - this way you can privately use this part of the garden in a relaxed manner.
The enviromental aspects were adressed in several ways, to make the house flexible and compatible to present standards, and even more importantly - future standards. The first step was choosing materials for the exterior best suited to the local climate. This is done by following on traditional methods of building - the use of white lime plaster which in summer reflects the heat and keeps both exterior and interior cooler, whilst in winter making the setting brighter and warmer in combination with a varied thickness of thermal insulation according to the orientation. For example, the cold north and east would bear a thicker layer of insulation than the sunny south and west, which are in turn clad in blocks of local stone, to mimic the landscape and add contrast to the white limestone - a combination of aesthetic and functional.The two service wings have wooden pergolas on top of a free-standing wall clad in a darker variety of stone, to visually separate them from the main house body.
The plan is composed of two principle axis - the kitchen and dining area axis and the corridor connecting the living and sleeping area. This way the living and sleeping areas are adequately separated, and the service rooms are neatly arranged between, leaving two small niches of green space that let in lateral fresh air - this way all bedrooms can be ventilated via two sides, and the service laundry and bathrooms can ventilate towards cool areas in partial shade.
The volume of the house is less than 1050 cubic metres, the spaces are slightly taller than usual - adding comfort and air as well as light. The issue of monotonous height is adressed by placing two taller areas facing the streets - the master bedroom and living room. The master bedroom has a 50cm higher ceiling to keep it in good proportion to its larger size. The living room height is altered in two ways - first by raising the roof for 70cm, and second by lowering the floor for 40cm. This play with heights corelates to the site topography, as there is a small diference along the northwest-southeast direction that the house assumes, and adds a strong ambiental value.
First, the fireplace is raised and acts as a second television, adding more action to the space. Second the room is distinctly separated from the kitchen, which allows for a nice bar to be placed between the bearing walls - the bar is the same height as any kitchen fixture, so it is easy for service, and from the living room it is the optimal 1m height for bar stools. This in turn creates two sectors in the living area - a lounge area near the bar, facing a western evening sun, and a TV area facing the terrace, where the sun wont obstruct watching the TV. The western wall of the living area has windows taller than the others - this helps in cathing the lower winter sun, and ventilating via the summer winds.
The house has a flat roof on three heights, with a strong east and south facing, which allows solar panels to be placed at the optimal angle. Along the panels, rainwater collection is also possible via the roof rain collectors, which can be chanelled via rigole towards cisternes at the bathrooms or kitchen and later used as utility water
The house landscape was done with local, suitable plant sorts, to reduce all garden maintenance and create an ambience with the local facade materials - providing shade and freshness where needed
