La forma allungata e stretta del lotto, insieme al suo orientamento rispetto al movimento del sole durante l’anno e alle diverse quote del terreno, hanno delineato i punti chiave che sono serviti per la prima idea progettuale. Visti i limiti delle distanze, l’area più ampia per godere di sufficiente superficie e per illuminare al meglio gli spazi, è quella più a nord: questo permette anche di sollevare la casa rispetto al resto del lotto e farla godere del panorama campestre che da lì si può ammirare.
Una linea ben distinguibile, parallela alla lunghezza del lotto edificabile, unisce fisicamente e visivamente le varie aree della villa e del terreno, e crea una soluzione di continuità tra l’ingresso e la fine dell’edificio, verso il grande giardino antistante: questa linea si traduce in un lungo lucernario, che sottolinea ancora di più il grande rapporto tra interno ed esterno e illumina perfettamente gli ambienti.
Questi ultimi, che sorgono come parallelepipedi incastrati lungo la stecca del lucernario, sono stati posizionati in modo tale da fruire al meglio della luce solare sia nei periodi invernali che in quelli estivi, a seconda che si tratti della zona giorno, esposta a sud, o della zona notte, ben separata dalla prima ed esposta verso sud-est, ossia verso l’alba. La facciata nord è quasi del tutto chiusa, fatto salvo l’ingresso principale e quello di servizio, per garantire la massima privacy nella zona più vicina alla strada.
La distribuzione dei vari ambienti è stata studiata al fine di utilizzare ogni centimetro a disposizione, seguendo le richieste del Cliente: l’ingresso, sottolineato dal lucernario ed eventualmente, da un tipo di pavimentazione diverso per materiale o posa rispetto a quello circostante, si apre su una grande sala open-space, dove sorgono l’area pranzo e la cucina a vista, dietro la quale si trovano due grandi dispense/ripostigli, e, oltre i setti in muratura che racchiudono anche un bel camino centrale, il soggiorno. Quest’ultimo è caratterizzato da due pareti interamente vetrate, che si aprono sul patio e proseguono l’area living all’esterno e guardano verso la zona barbecue e piscina. La posizione arretrata degli infissi rispetto alla linea del tetto piano, garantisce la giusta protezione dal sole estivo (più alto e quindi con un angolo d’inclinazione più grande), e permette di far entrare quello invernale (più basso sull’orizzonte e dunque con un’inclinazione più piccola). Sulla sinistra dell’ingresso si trova il guardaroba, così come il bagno di servizio per gli ospiti e la lavanderia. Seguendo il percorso del lucernario è possibile intravvedere la sala relax/studio, una piccola oasi di verde che nasconde alla vista la camera padronale e, in fondo, il giardino e la vista panoramica.
La zona notte, come già detto ben separata, si apre su un piccolo disimpegno, su cui affacciano due camere matrimoniali dotate di bagno e piccolo patio personale, e la saletta relax. Da questa è possibile raggiungere la camera padronale, la più grande e riservata: la caratteristica principale di questa stanza è il suo ingresso, che ospita una grande vasca d’arredo free-standing, e che funge anche da antibagno; il piccolo patio interno e un muro basso garantiscono la giusta privacy e un’illuminazione sufficiente e d’effetto; la camera è dotata di una grande cabina armadio, che funziona anche da testiera del letto, e anch’essa di un piccolo patio personale; il letto guarda direttamente verso la piscina a sfioro: la vista dell’acqua e dell’area verde lì accanto regala un’oasi di relax unica. Tutti i bagni sono dotati di ampie docce, piani lavabo su misura, wc e bidet.
Il giardino è stato diviso in aree, sfruttando il dislivello del terreno, per creare ambienti esterni diversi e funzionali. Il primo terrazzamento, quello più vicino alla piscina, è considerato come un’oasi verde, dedicata al prato e a diverse essenze ben scelte, che creino piccole oasi di colori e profumi; il secondo terrazzamento è dedicato a un piccolo orto, in cui coltivare spezie e vegetali; il terzo ospita il frutteto, che non solo bilancia la presenza della villa dall’altra estremità del lotto, ma crea anche una barriera protettiva visiva rispetto alla strada antistante. Tutte e tre le diverse aree verdi sono collegate dalla stessa linea che unisce gli ambienti della casa, cucendo l’edificio e il giardino in un unico tessuto.

The elongated and narrow shape of the lot, together with its orientation with respect to the movement of the sun during the year and the different levels of the land, have outlined the key points that have served for the first design idea. Given the limits of the distances, the widest area to enjoy sufficient surface area and to better illuminate the spaces, is the one farther north: this also allows to lift the house compared to the rest of the lot and make it enjoy the rural landscape that is possible to admire from there.
A clearly distinguishable line, parallel to the length of the building lot, physically and visually unites the various areas of the villa and the land, and creates a solution of continuity between the entrance and the end of the building, towards the large front garden: this line it translates into a long skylight, which further emphasizes the great relationship between inside and outside and perfectly illuminates the rooms.
The latter, which arise as parallelepipeds embedded along the skylight splint, were positioned in such a way as to enjoy the best of sunlight both in winter and in summer, depending on whether it is the living area, facing south, or of the sleeping area, well separated from the first and facing south-east, that is towards dawn. The north facade is almost completely closed, except for the main entrance and the service entrance, to ensure maximum privacy in the area closest to the road.
The distribution of the various rooms has been studied in order to use every available centimeter, following the Client's requests: the entrance, underlined by the skylight and possibly from a different type of flooring for material or laying with respect to the surrounding one, opens on a large open-space room, where there are the dining area and the open kitchen, behind which there are two large pantries/closets, and, in addition to the septa walls that also enclose a beautiful central fireplace, the living room. The latter is characterized by two entirely glazed walls, which open onto the patio and continue the living area to the outside and look towards the barbecue and pool area. The backward position of the fixtures with respect to the flat roof line, guarantees the right protection from the summer sun (higher and therefore with a larger angle of inclination), and allows to let in the winter one (lower on the horizon and therefore with a smaller inclination). On the left of the entrance is the wardrobe, as well as the guest bathroom and the laundry room. Following the path of the skylight it is possible to glimpse the relaxation/study room, a small green oasis that hides the master bedroom from view and, at the back, the garden and the panoramic view.
The well-separated sleeping area opens onto a small hallway, which is overlooked by two double bedrooms with a bathroom and a small personal patio, and a relaxation room. From this it is possible to reach the master bedroom, the largest and most reserved: the main feature of this room is its entrance, which houses a large free-standing furnishing bathtube, which also serves as an anteroom; the small interior patio and a low wall guarantee the right privacy and sufficient and effective lighting; the room has a large walk-in closet, which also functions as a headboard, and also a small personal patio; the bed looks directly at the infinity pool: the view of the water and of the green area nearby gives an oasis of unique relaxation. All bathrooms have large showers, custom-made washbasins, wc and bidet.
The garden has been divided into areas, taking advantage of the unevenness of the land, to create different and functional outdoor environments. The first terracing, the one closest to the pool, is considered as a green oasis, dedicated to the lawn and to several well-chosen essences, which create small oases of colors and fragrances; the second terracing is dedicated to a small vegetable garden, in which to cultivate spices and vegetables; the third houses the orchard, which not only balances the presence of the villa from the other end of the lot, but also creates a protective visual barrier with respect to the opposite road. All three different green areas are connected by the same line that unites the rooms of the house, sewing the building and the garden in a single fabric.
