Descrizione Progetto

The basic idea of interior design came from the fact that some part of the old factory was renovated as an apartment. The idea was to redecorate the place in an industrial style, with a lot of good designed pieces of furniture. So this solution is trying to bring a sort of industrial art view to the space. The main idea of the designing space is to create several micro-spaces (entrance area, study area, living area, kitchen area, dining area) in one big open space of the apartment. Entrance is marked by a wall that separates the living area from the entrance, and allows bedroom to have a hall which is separated from the living area. In this way we provide the level of privacy between the input area and the apartment. From the other side of the entrance wall, study area is located near the windows, so there could be enough lighting during the day. Baby grand piano is placed next to the work zone, which the client has requested. Living area is located opposite the study area, which is designed as comfortable, artistic space with a large couch, two great plywood chairs designed by Hans Wegner, and one Moroso lounge chair. The main accents in the living area are the light elements which are very expressive and belong to the industrial design. The dining room and kitchen are separated from the living area with bookshelves that ensure privacy, allowing light to permeate throughout the space. Bookshelves are placed in the center of living area, and represent a transparent boundary between the eating zone and living room. Kitchen is designed in a minimalistic way using the black and white color scheme. Mutina tiles from azulej series, which combine different patterns, are used above kitchen cabinets. A dining table, made of wood, is placed next to the kitchen and leans against the wall of the storage room. Also the place with a dining table is marked with mosaic tiles from azulej series.
Demolitions and reconstructions are trying to give more dynamism and quality to the space. Storage area is concentrated at the back of the apartment next to the kitchen so that windows can fully illuminate the living room and the kitchen, and in that way the client could have extra space for disposal of items.
Bedroom is designed in a simple minimalistic way ,where a big white wardrobe, bed with extra storage drawers for bed sheets, a headboard shelf, and a simple floor lamp are placed. The wall between the bedroom and the bathroom is demolished and a glass wall is made in its place, which gives additional lighting to the bedroom area.
