In the following attachments you can find my proposal for your basement interior design. My first aim was to create cozy, functional and livable space as much as possible, that can cover all your wishes and needs. Space consists of relaxing, sitting area with sofa and TV set oriented around fireplace that I kept and redesigned its external look. The sofa can be stretched out and turned into a sleeping bed for two persons. Together with TV set I arranged shelves where you can put your books. This would be the first zone of the room meant for relaxing, reading, drinking tea by the fireplace or watching TV. Second zone of the room is bar table with wine shelves behind. My first idea was to propose a small kitchen combined with wine shelves to give the possibility to make meal, but since you don’t have water pipes in the space, I proposed wine shelves with bar table, but I left enough space for potential mini kitchen in some future time. Part of these wine shelves can be used for glasses or some other dishes. Under the bar there is also possibility to make little cupboard to store some dishes that you need. Bar table is wide enough so that two people can have lunch on it. Third part of the room is entrance, wardrobe and office desk. I covered the radiator next to the entrance doors with white mediapan perforated mask (you can leave your keys or some small stuff on it) and above it you have place with mirror and hooks to leave your jacket or hat. Under the office desk there is small cupboard to leave your shoes, but you can also use it for some office stuff to put in it if it is more necessary for you. Desk is big enough to put your PC, printer, small lamp and glass with pens. Above the desk there are small shelves for papers or books. Next to the desk and garage doors I predicted space for small wardrobe where you can fold or hang your clothes.
For the interior design I chose very bright pastel colors, furniture fabrics and materials, as there is lack of natural light in the room, so beside the illumination, colors are additional factor that contribute bringing more light into the space. In the terms of lightning there is ambiental and main light (ceiling reflectors) in combination with the LED strips with the possibility to adjust. I chose the strength and color of the lights so that it looks like there is more daylight in the room.
Before you start with interior design I suggest installing electrical installations first with making new outlets for lightning according to the project, and then peeling, smoothing and painting your walls. Since you have moisture in the basement I suggest Sikagard impregnation coating to protect your walls from moisture, fungi and molds.
