The aim of the project was to create two different living unities, maximizing the usage of light such way that it could result into warm and lovely places. Thereby we chose to place the mezanine in the most lightly area where we had windows on the whole height, adding another large window on the western wall. The lofts have two separate entrances. The main (industrial style) loft has a small hallway connecting the guest bathroom. The hallway divides kitchen from entrance trough a glass brick wall in order to illuminate the cooking area accordingly. Industrial finishes such as apparent brick and concrete have been used and in order to give a warm touch we combined them with wooden elements alongside steel accents. Near the staircase there is a special place for a library which completes the living room and becomes kind of a more secret although visible place of the house. The bedroom upstairs can be visible or enclosed but it has large windows openings that help shape the space in an unique way. In the dining area the main element is a large bling brick wall that can be accessorized over time with various pictures, frames, souvenirs or could hold even a bicycle, thus creating the spontaneity of the industrial feeling. The design could also be completed with hanging bulbs above the kitchen island/bar. On the other side of the library wall, things do, however, change drastically. The other apartment is minimal in terms of decoration, color and effects. It was designed as though painting on a white canvas leaving only some accents. In terms of functionality it incorporates two master bedrooms , a single bedroom and a living with extensible couch. This apartment has two entrances, the main entrance near the staircase and bathroom and a separate one for the single bedroom if the space is to be rented separately it provides more intimacy between the inhabitants. It also hosts a large dining table, that can be suited for 8 people and it also provides a kitchen large enough for cooking accordingly. Nothing is there just for the sake of it, it is simple and practical. As for colors we only have two tones - from white to grey and the wooden barns from brown to yellow, black being the common point. The light colors do make the space seem larger than it is anyways and polished barns can be the common point of the two lofts. The furniture is on a budget but suited because it can be easily replaced. As for the lack of complexity it becomes easy to clean and maintain.
